I don't know if there will be a day when I can take a rice burner enthusiast serious about an off road truck. He is clearly trying to say the same engine setup will work in the desert. So where's the proof? Why wasn't the Eco available in the raptor yet?
We get it, you drive pavement princesses and would like nothing less from a truck you buy.
Turbo or supercharged v8 in the raptor? Sweet!
V6 turbo? No thx
Weird, I guess owning two AMERICAN MADE Jeeps, both with V8s, make me a rice burner enthusiast. Is it because I own a Subaru? Guess what? Its made in the USA too. Good try but you fell pretty short on that comment.
Also the only 'pavement princess' I own is the Subaru. Furthermore my lifted Jeep has trail rash, dents, and dings all over it from heavy offroad use. I live in Wyoming so trails are minutes away. Im currently fixing my driveline after I snapped the rear driveshaft so while Im in there the NP249 is getting swapped with a fresh NP242. But I digress.
Like I said earlier when BMW went from the I6 to the big bad v8 now back to the TT I6 that didnt ruin the brand nor did it make it 'less badass'. Yes its not a truck but its the same damn concept. Its a premium brand switching things up and figuring out what works for motor choices.
Most of the Raptors around where I live are always clean, always perfectly detailed, and never have a spot of mud so I could easily make the case that most Raptors are pavement princess status trucks like most trucks and 4 door Jeeps on the road these days.
But Ill bow out and let the v8 circle jerk continue even though nobody has given a good explanation why the ecoboost is such a horrible choice of motors. I guess some people think their manhood is in jeopardy with a smaller motor, who knows.
