Where I work there's 3-4 13sec trucks and in the area there's an 8 sec Lighting. Now far as I know there is nothing that's high speed offroad. There's a bunch of crawler buggies and Jeeps.

My buddy I work with has a dodge that made like 750/1400 ?? Something like that, I know at 80 it will smoke the tires when the boost comes up. He has never taken it to the track just dyno.

That L is a race truck that happens to be street legal. It started as a bone stock truck then just kept getting quicker lol

That guys name escapes me at the moment. I met him several years back. He built it in his garage back halfed it. Truck was silver it was a 2nd Gen. I'm guessing he still has it I would see it at car shows and such.

The quickest street driven one I've seen prob ran low-mid 11's. Boost +n2o

I can't wait for spring to get here and hopefully win some trophys with the stang. Been using the practice tree everytime i walk by it and have a few mins to kill lol

I've got to say I'm HIGHLY skeptical of the 8 second lightning. I've been on the Lightning boards for over a decade and there have only been an extremely small handful of guys to ever run in the 8's. A couple full tube chassis trucks, and ONE street truck (twin turbo truck, and yep he even drives it to lowes lol). Not saying there couldn't be another one out there nobody's heard of, but usually if it's ever been to the track on any frequency and run those kind of numbers, somebody's at least heard about it before. And an 8 second lightning would certainly generate a buzz across the L boards.

I've been almost smoked and smoked by full size trucks with a V8 and a Honda with loud exhaust. My Super Duty will kill the Raptor off the line. I've come to terms with the fact that the Raptor isn't a super car. It wasn't designed for off the line racing. Just remember, no one can follow it once it leaves the road and maintain the speeds it can. Think high speed offroad racing!!

now I've never seen it make a pass that's just what I was told. It was backhalfed had lexan windows little interior it had some kind of forged shortblock and a c6 with a brake. This info was all from a car show. I didn't think much about it not being that quick. However I've seen stuff at the track that really surprised me so i assumed it was that quick. Most people at car shows talk shit but usually have street tires and have no idea what it would run.

Yeah not saying it's not fast, but breaking into the 8's in a L is a HUGE milestone. Only a handful have ever done it. There are backhalfed trucks running in the 9's and that is impressive. My truck has bars coming out the rear lexan window, I strip down the interior to a single kirkey seat, have 722 rwhp and nearly 800 ft-lbs of torque and only run 10.3 and it's the worlds fastest street HD truck. Now I'm not back halved yet, and I'm still on the 4R100, but that wouldn't drop nearly 2 seconds. Takes an IMMENSE amount more power to break 8's.

Again not saying it's not possible, just unlikely. More probably he claimed it was an "8 second capable" truck lol

I really don't know much about Ford stuff except for 2011+ mustangs. The 06 is the 1st Ford I've owned and the 12 is the 2nd. I really want a 03-04 Cobra at some point down the road but until recently I've never really put much intrest into reading about Ford stuff. Previous F-body GTO guy since 98 My WS6 was in HPP mag and I was the 2nd quicket cam only GTO. I wanted something different so I ended up getting into Mustangs..

I know the race weight in a truck is surely 1800+ lbs compated to a car, but far as knowing what to call BS on unless it's really outlandish I don't know enought about them. How much weight have you taken out of yours ?

I've gotten a pretty good chunk of weight out of mine. It's about 4,500 lbs with me in it at race weight. Street trim is around 5,000-5,200 without me in it. I take off the hard tonneau, tailgate, nurf bars, and full interior for race weight. Also have some permanent weight reduction like spare, hitch, lexan back window, light weight carpet, carbon fiber drive shaft, fiberglass leaf springs, etc. Not a whole lot of places left to shed weight, I've got front and rear bumpers I can shed for rollpan and fiberglass, and lexan rear door windows, but other than that, I'm about tapped out. I'd love to get it to hit 3,999 at race weight without me in it.

Lightnings are a little lighter from the regular cab vs extended cab, but not a whole lot. Everything else on the trucks is the same other than the extra cab length. A few of my buddy's L's with some substantial weight reduction are about 100-200 lbs lighter than mine in race trims. So even with all the standard weight reduction, and a back half, that truck is still likely 3800+ lbs without a driver. A LOT of weight to run 8's. And I can pretty much guarantee you if it had a blower under the hood, it didn't run 8's. There's only 2 guys I can think of that have ran 8's on blower only. Steve Cooper from CA with a sonic blue FULL TUBE CHASSIS Lightning, it's a full tube chassis truck with a carbon fiber shell of a lightning body, with a 3.4 whipple. And Charlie Stanley from MD with a black back halved, front halved, nearly tube chassis, Lightning. I'm pretty sure he's squeeked out an 8.9. Powered by a 2.8 KB, and now owned by JLP and powered by a 3.6 KB. There have been several guys run in the 8's with twin turbos. JLP's front half/back halved Lightning with twins, Dowheelies lightning has actually ran 7.90's on twins and was street driven, Gary Cooper has ran into the 6's with his full tube chassis truck and twins (and actually a 4.6 instead of a 5.4), and Casey Brown's self built, self tuned, full frame, leaf spring, black Gen 2L with twins. He's ran 8.7's and drives his truck all the time, one of the most impressive TRUE street trucks.

reptar are you from north east nj?? i think i have seen your HD truck a a couple of car shows

I'm in Jackson. used to be in Swedesboro. I haven't had the truck in many shows in the past few years, just Chik-fil-a shows on Saturdays in Howell. But few years back I used to put it in shows at Atco and Etown pretty often. It's hard though because I'd rather go racing than showing, so I don't get to as many shows now lol.

Story time!

So yesterday, I was going through Scottsboro's busiest intersection... on hwy 72. A silver BMW 3 series or so rode my bumper all the way through the turn and passed me in the right lane, then cut me off back into the left. I follow closely behind until there was a stretch. I need to make a turn up ahead and tried to speed by... He again sped up... So a little angry, I told the GF to hang on, dropped it down into 3rd and left his ass in the dust....

That my friends is how I drive my Raptor. Do the same.

Up for another one?

I was on my way back from Gadsden on Highway 11 North to Ft. Payne Alabama. This road is 55 MPH with alot of deer country. I see a car that obviously has an owner that cant drive pulling up to a stop sign ahead... They pull out right in front of me!!! I WAS PISSED. Where they pulled out was a po-dump little town I pay no attention to. There were no passing zones for a while so I was stuck behind them doing 35!! After 10 minutes, first passing zone!! Whoo!! Drop down into second w/ manual, signal, and pull out. About 30 feet from their rear bumper while passing, they signal with their left(my side) turn signal. I slam on the brakes and get back over behind them waiting for them to turn. Signal goes off... NO ******* TURN! By then i'm pissed. I open my exhaust cut out and turn on my brights(hid kit). Another passing zone, turn to the GF, "Hold On!" Drop it down into 2nd again and floor it. Broke traction in 2nd gear :peace:! Flew by them, scared them shitless, and made my night!

Lol I need to make a thread about Road Rage lol. IM bad about it.... Sorry for spamming your thread, thought it would be a good story...

I was at the stop light the other day on my mountain bike and this tool in an enzo next to me had his lame dubstep cranked up max volume...

I wasn't have'n it though. I tossed back the rest of my redbull. I look back at my GF and tell her to make sure her helmets strapped tight...

And when that light hit green I put the pedal around the metal so fast my front end shot straight up in the air and I launched forward soooooooo fast I almost lost my girlfriend ! But I just kept pedalling like I had some place to be. That's how I roll.

Then I hand signaled right and cut the enzo off before he even left his parking spot. Then I just cruised enjoying yet another victory. Just another day saving gas money smokin super cars with my girl, my ride and my victory. Winning is what I do.

On a serious note though. I do notice a lot of people driving other trucks always try and race or whatever.

Then you get the rice rockets that are desperate to prove that fart-cans and spoilers are awesome and can't stand the idea of a truck accelerating past them.

Vancouver drivers in general tend to have this "I have to be 1st" mentality... regardless of how slow they want to drive.. They will gas it, cut you off, then slow down to half the speed limit again and try desperately to block you from getting ahead of them in their lane anytime you try to pass...

Instead of just staying the hell in the slow lane and letting the people pass in the other lane.. Majority would rather stir some road rage while they text and sip on a double ****** bag latte with whipped cream and two pumps of retard.

And I swear to god latte sippin brake riders have some kind of buddy system going on.. They always seem to drive in pairs and take up both lanes side by side.... It's like it's a requirement to hold hands and do half the speed limit.

Wouldn't want to cause a typo or something while texting. Probably texting eachother too side by side to talk about how fabulous latte sipping and holding up traffic is. Debating whether or not they are driving too fast.

As for the OP.... To echo what has already been stated... The Raptor's no slouch, but it's no race car either.
