Different kind of question now. Since you are doing the front end in stage levels, what stage would be recommended to complement this set up for the rear? Normally with most upgrades the rear seems to be unable to keep up. This setup for the rear is very much improved over stock. Just wondering what stage of front end upgrades would be best to try to maximize the return on investment.

Doug - I'm treading on dangerous territory asking these questions, and my bank account is hoping for bad news (it's mad at me at the moment).

So I have:

FRONT - Icon 3.0 coilovers, RPG UCAs and LCAs, RPG tie rods, Fox 3.0 secondary bypass shocks (dual shock setup)

REAR - Icon 3.0's, RPG frame support and bump stops, and Deaver +3 springs

Will all of this work with the cantilever kit? In an email I sent you last week, you mentioned the Icons would work - but might need a dog bone. Here are the specs I found on Raptor shocks from the three vendors. I'm not sure what "length" the Icons are considered (it looks like they have 7" of travel). Does that mean I need 5" dog bones?

Also, I hear bolt on - but I also hear cutting. Is there any welding required? Anything special I would need to do with the Deaver +3 springs? Is this a DIY project? How much extra work is involved if I leave the bed in place?

I did the Icon install front and rear. But the LCAs and secondary front shocks were done by my shop (because of the welding). It was a VERY expensive install because the top shock mounts need special fitting and welding.

Here's a great deal for both of us: You can wrap my truck with Rogue Racing and I will be a billboard for your company - and you can give me the cantilever kit and install it, all for free. It's a win-win!! Plus I lived a few blocks from your shop for 12 years - we're both Hendersonites.

I need to come to Vegas anyway to pick up a gun from the Vegas Police evidence locker (the stupid thief finally got busted and happened to still have my stolen Walther from 5 years ago).

Good question... We recommend Stage 3 to keep up with the rear cantilever. The rear Cantilever is a very soft feeling rear suspension. It sucks up rough terrain very well and gives you a great amount of travel. With this being said our Stage 2 front worked very well in our test truck but once we added the upgraded coil-over and LCA to the equation the ride felt very balanced.

With all of the above being said I would recommend the following front end upgrades in this order:

1. Upper Control Arm
2. Upgraded Coil-Over
3. Stock Replacement Spindle
4. Tie Rod Kit
5. LCA

Once you get the first two done you will feel a more balanced ride. You can stop here is you just want to drive on the street and not do much off-roading. If you are like most of us you want to go and see what this thing scan do and that is where number 3 and 4 come into play. There have been several reports of spindles bending and breaking and the same for the tie-rods. Number 5 is the next step. Our LCA's are much stronger than stock and utilize a 1 ½" Uniball, they have a jack provision, have a bump stop pad, use Delrin Bushings, Zerk Greased Fittings, and the only LCA that uses the stock steering stops to keep you CV's from getting in a bind from turning to far under load.

Please tell me that everything gets powder coated black when you order this system inside and out?

Everything gets coated graphite grey however we can can do the system in black if you would like it that way. We pay close attention to everything and will make sure that the coating is perfect both inside and out.

Sounds like Stage 4 or 5 then. My truck spends a lot of time on the street as a DD. But, when we hit the dirt more capability would be great. Already have the limits of the stock suspension dialed in. If I could refrain from blowing past those limits I wouldn't be looking for something like this, lol. So about a month or so until the pricing and details are released on the front stages?
