Another versatile option is http://www.rotopax.com/Gasoline/ but they're even more $$ than the Ex-1 option above.

Unless you already have a filler neck you can't buy one anymore in CA. You can get the can just not the filler neck...I love this state.
Whoa no way???

MMD some are short enough to fit under some covers but some are not, depends on your cover and the can. I just find them to be great because they don't spill unless you mess something up and they fill fast. I use them for all my fuel hauling needs. Too bad about the Cali thing...

This looks like a well designed container.

I need to check and see if it will fit under the BakFlip.

Why are all you guys still beating this very dead horse? These motorsport cans with the sealed tops work great. You just buy one filler neck top. Or am I missing why these wouldn't work?

1. Are they CARB approved (available in CA)?
2. What is their overall height? Will they fit under a bed cover like the BakFlip?

Unless you already have a filler neck you can't buy one anymore in CA. You can get the can just not the filler neck...I love this state.

I've been running with a couple of TuffJugs (linked to in post #39), which I think are the same thing that SuperRaptor linked too as well. Couldn't be working out better.

I did build myself a filler neck and I used it a handful of times, but after the whole funnel thing, I decided to dump the filler neck all together. There's no need; just unscrew the top and dump into the funnel. Works like a charm.

As for height under the cover, no, you won't have room. Instead just use the caps that come with the jug and if you still want to use a filler neck, store it until needed.

Also, I would suggest using the opaque (white) versions of the jugs, not the red ones. Either one is resilient against UV, but with the opaques you can look at them from a distance and know right away how much fuel you have in them. That's been really handy.

No worries!

FWIW, I wouldn't order these online. See if you have a "Cycle Gear" (http://www.cyclegear.com/) near you and just go pick them up. Grab the one without the California nozzle and instead grab the ones with the standard cap (the standard cap has a plug screwed into the top of it that can be removed and replaced by the "quick fill hose" you linked to (which Cycle Gear also sells). But honestly, my quick fill is collecting dust. If you get yourself a larger funnel (see here for one idea: http://www.svtoffroad.com/showthrea...l-Door-and-Replacing-the-Ford-Supplied-Funnel) you can just uncap the jug and pour; quick and efficient.

Also, if you plan to store fuel in your truck for a while, consider making a trip to find some E85. I carried around gas half the summer and it stunk up my bed (Bed Rug) something awful. I made the switch to E85 and haven't smelled anything since. Also, (NO IDEA IF THIS IS TRUE) but I heard that E85 can be stored in the Tuff Jug container + standard cap legally here in California. It doesn't fall under CARB requirements. Again, I have no idea if that's true.

NATO 20 Liter Jerry Can - SET OF FOUR

These metal 20L (~5 gal) cans have great reviews on forums and I have four of them myself. Very well made, no venting or bulging, even in hot weather. Can't smell any gas coming from them at all.

I have four of these, plus a super siphon type (tube with a check valve, so it can start the flow easily) device to fuel the car. I just set the whole jug on the roof/trunk and let if flow through the siphon via gravity instead of trying to hold it up while pouring.
