So is the replacement part a new design or just the same cam phaser? If 2021 trucks are still having the issue, then it needs to be fixed properly. I don't want them taking the front of my truck apart only to have it happen again.

The issue does not pertain to 2021 models. The parts were redesigned and have been available since Fall 2019.

Dealer said that they would not flash an update on my truck because they did not want to erase the tune.

Facts?

Find another dealer or service manager with at least half a brain... FACT.

Your tune can be put back onto the truck once it's been flashed with the update.

Mine was done without even unloading the tune. No issues.

Right...

Hm. I will take it back I guess, and just remove the tune before. Bring the animal back down to stock.

After the reflash as part of this recall, my truck no longer exhibits the sloppy shift into 4th gear when cold. It had that behavior since new, and the behavior persisted after a shift table reflash several months ago. But this reflash has stopped the behavior. First shift of the day on a cold morning is now smooth going into 4th. Anybody else experience this or have possible explanation?

I’ve noticed the same thing. They must have released a TCM update within the new calibration as well. They probably didn’t release a separate service message for it since all trucks need 21B10 regardless.
