When I was looking at bumpers, a clean front plate mount was absolutely critical. TX DPS loves to pull you over for no front plate as probable cause. And with my frequent trips around the state, I wasn't going to deal with the drama.

This was my solution:

Hey Nick, how are those side lights behind the mesh? I am thinking of the Rebel and concerned on how much light blockage it will cause.

You don't lose much light with the mesh, but you do lose some focus. But I have flood mounts there, so the focus was of no concern. The lights really aren't usable for anything more than aesthetics because of the angle at which they're mounted; they point directly at the ground. I thought about spending the time to modify the brackets to make the lights point straight out, but with the rest of my lights, it'd be like throwing a match into a fire and I found it unnecessary.

I was thinking about it for corner lighting. On my existing bumper I had them angled out without any obstruction and it definitely helped on the side.

Understood. I wasn't worried about that with my setup. With the cubes in the radius pattern and the outer lights being floods, the corners are well lit.

For your situation, it's hard to tell. You'd want the lights mounted as flush to the mesh as possible to minimize any light lost, but due to the angle of the side mesh, I don't know if you'd get enough light pushed to the corners.

When our customers are interested in corner and ditch lighting, we tend to recommend A-pillar mounted cubes aimed accordingly. You could adjust your hood mounted lights for that purpose if you found the behind the mesh mount to not be enough.

I have a venom bumper and fastened mine with some paracord. Been doing just fine for over a year now.

I ran into the same problem with my ADD Stealth Fighter bumper. I live in Texas also, and as some have already spoken about, the cops here love to use no front plate as an excuse to pull you over. If you have a conventional roller fairlead you can buy this plate mount from Smittybilt. It just snaps on and uses pressure to hold it on the rollers. It's really secure and won't fall off, but easy to swipe off if someone wants to. I'm going to secure it with some cable in the future.

I believe another version for a front plate would be the ADD Race Series R if you opt for the two 4" or 6" light bars instead of the 20" light bar in the lower grille area. Is that right, @ADDJake?
