There's a couple options that attach to the tow hook. I personally have the ijdmtoy bracket, it's about half the price of the swarfworks. Also bought a Dorman Help! 68148 Front License Plate Bracket off Amazon so car washes will stop bending the shit out of the front plate.

Has anyone used the 3M PPF sheets to protect their front License Plate,or know of a product that will protect, other than those damn Hard Plastic protectors that crack every time a rock hits it?
Thanks

Not running one right now. Got a ticket once in 3 years with my M3. Pay to play, I’d rather take my chances and not have one.

I already had the factory plate frame mounted to the bumper, I could care less about running a front plate - especially on a truck, hate it on my vette but I also don't want any additional reasons to get pulled over - I didn't really consider it a factor as "blocking" the intercooler, I'm sure it gets enough air. I didn't like how the factory plastic frame/bracket doesn't allow for any additional aftermarket license plate frame due to clearance within the bracket + the holding tabs @ the top AND the screw holes for the plate are at the bottom (realized thats partly why the tabs are on the top) & most/all nice plate frames have holes @ the top.

I took a dremel & shaved down the plastic retaining tabs & drilled holes into the bottom of the license plate frame so I could mount it from the bottom w/ plate screws. While it seems plenty secure that way I also put a small velcro strip at the top of the plate between it & the plastic frame to really secure it (again - didn't appear necessary but this way it for sure while stay put)

I needed a little "flare" to a black on black on black Raptor.....the "Raptor" frame is a nice touch IMO, Once it stops raining 24/7 I'm going to cut a couple small squares of black electrical tape & stick over the plate screw holes behind the top holes in the frame for cleaner look

Only speaking for myself...

I agree. On my sporty cars (I'm of modest means, so only Mustangs/Cobras and a 335IS) I abhorred the front plate. On this truck? Whatever! I just don't like it blocking the dang ole dang ole intercooling-thingy.

My experience in TX is if I stay around where I live, I don't get pulled over, but if I'm road trippin' DPS likes to use no front plate as probable cause. Got tired of getting warnings, so I eventually bought removable front plate mounts for my Corvettes. For my eurotrash, I run tow hook mounts. For my trucks, I ordinarily DGAF, but because charge cooler, I just ordered the swarfworks.

Anyone know what the bumper looks like if you got your truck w/ the front plate bracket already mounted by the dealer like I have? I'm just curious
