I bet they were clever enough to make sure it would clear a set of lights mounted on the Ford Racing light bar lol

I agree with you but Ford can't seriously expect everyone that purchases a Raptor to use it for off road purposes.

Even the Hummer H1 wasn't solely intended for off road usage and that's, arguably, the most capable stock off road vehicle.

And they don't expect everyone to use it just for offorad purposes, which is why it's a production truck and still has cruise control, air conditioned seats, and all of those creature comforts for a daily driver street queen. But that doesn't mean every single feature on the truck should be for street function. There's nothing wrong with some things on the truck actually being only geared for offroading use.

I see no relevant arguement to the H1 either. The H1 wasn't intended JUST for offorad use and thats it, and neither was the Raptor. How's that any different? The Raptor has more creature comforts for more use on streets. Or would you also complain that the Hummer if it had a snorkle that the snorkle wasn't any use on the street and it was dumb because Hummer didn't design a street function for the snorkle, just an offorad function. Well ford geared the front camera as for offroad use. not parking between other minivans at walmart :ROFLJest:

Trust me I'm with you I'd like the front camera to have more functionality as well, I ordered it on my '12 that will rarely go offroad and I'd like to find some use for it since I'm buying it, but I'm not complaining that Ford added it as an offroad feature, I'm looking at it the realistic side and just happy they did add it.

Reptar, I see all your points and they're valid and well argued points. Thanks for opening up my eyes.

not trying to be a smartazz about it, but just pointing out the flip sides of some things and looking at things from fords standpoint and where they were coming from.

I'll probably get more stir crazy as my wait for my '12 continues lol.

ps I find it funny that walmart is autotagged in my post. WTF is that about? lol

No to figure out how to get that into my 2011, cause though I heard rumors about the new front camera and torsen diff, I could not get it confirmed by any one at Ford and chose to order my 2011, which I may have had to anyway with hunting / farming season was starting.

x2 it should be available in all modes, may be only under 5 mph or something. With the size of the truck it would really help for parking. I think it would cause a lot of issues if you were running 70 mph on the highway trying to see how close you could get to the person in front of you... under 5 mph, you are pretty much in parking mode.

yeah sounds like they want to steer you to one of the stripped down retail 2012's instead of waiting on the delay for sold orders. what dealer are you buying from?

Yeah, never seen that before on this forum. Something called Viglink.

Yet another reason I don't even bother surfing the internet without AdBlockPlus. Sites think they're getting more revenue with this kind of nonsense. The more you squeeze people, the more simply block ads.

If ads were static (non-animated, non-flash) banners on the periphery of the page, I would not use an adblocker.

And as far as the front camera, why in the F--K can't they just add a button that says "Front camera"? Perhaps above one that says "Rear camera".

Just spoke with LockPick and NAV-TV.

LockPick is out as far as getting the front camera to work on demand. They told me that it interacts with the instrument cluster and that the LockPick does not affect that at all. Unless LockPick starts to interact with that, then we are SOL.

NAV-TV says they don't have the feature either. But they asked if I could drive to Boca Raton, FL for them to borrow my truck. I politely declined since it's a bit of a drive for me. Anybody with a 2012 Raptor with Front Camera should contact [email protected] if you want to help them and us other 2012 owners with front camera out.

Hope there's a solution soon.
