Typo- he has the Colorado Z71.
Too many Z’s, R’s, 2’s, and 71’s to keep track of!

Or you could just put the shifter back on the column and have a flat space without having to design an over complicated shifter assembly?
In before the development dwelling yuppies say that column shifters don’t fit the lifestyle image they’re desperately trying to project.

You do realize if the battery fails you can still unlock the door and drive the truck right? The smart key key is a better option in all aspectsI kinda agree with him, actually. My wife's car has push button start and my truck doesn't. The push button start has it's disadvantages, too. I'd call it a wash for convenience. Ford gouges you for it, it's more stuff to break, and it's a security risk. I can always unlock the door to pop the hood with my old-school key, even if the battery fails. Given a choice, I will opt out, even if the price is the same.

It just didn’t seem like a very moot point to make if you already knew you could open the door and drive the truck even if the battery in the fob is dead.Yeah, about six people have already pointed that out. Thanks.
The column shifter is just another big expensive electrical switch too. When there was a mechanical linkage to the tranny, it made sense. These days, not so much. Not at all, really.
