I have used the Wouxun handheld on the runs I have attended and it has worked flawlessly. Just be sure to also get the speaker mic, mag mount antenna and battery eliminator cigarette lighter adapter with it.

Your "open" sunglass holder makes a perfect clip on spot for the mic with the radio in one of the cup holders.

Once you get your radio programmed, your set as all Raptor Runs use the same channels.

I can't imagine they're hard to program? Never used a civilian one but for ours I can pre program freqs or change it on the fly from the main screen.
