Regarding the spare tire(s), for TRR I had 2 (one in the bed and one underneath) and had no issues. Some time ago, I read that GLRE didn't want us running with one underneath. I don't have the capability to securely mount them both in the bed so should I just drop the one from underneath and leave it at camp?

I believe if that was your only location for your spare.

Make a note to bring clothes for cold weather also. It is always at least 10 to 15 degrees cooler up in coal country. Mornings and nights are pretty cold.

Cold seems to be GLRE specialty.

Between the Snoball 500 and what I saw at the Spring 13..... it wouldn't be a GLRE event if it didn't snow here too

You have to have a minimum of one spare in the bed. Where you store more if you like is your call.

It's for speed and access if you get a flat.

The reason for that at the SnoBall was mostly because having to dig a tire out from under a truck that was buried in snow would have been a PITA.

If you haven't dropped your spare in a while you may want to check the lock on the bumper, mine was corroded/rusted up pretty good and would not release without some WD40 and a little cleaning.

You can leave it under the truck if you want. Just one tire has to be secured in the bed.
