I use my front camera every day when I come home and park in the garage.

Me too. Mines more like a shop with only 1 door. I park my Raptor, 1000xp4, wifes car and of course the lawn mower. Its a pretty tight squeeze, but using the front camera helps immensely. If you keep your dash on the offroad app like I do, you only have to push the steering wheel directional button once to the right and hit the "ok" button to get the front camera on. That's with the Navtv.

But then you don't know how many miles to empty... ;-)

The guys that are having to jump thru all the hoops to enable the front camera with NAVTV, is that a model year issue or ?

Mine I just use the 'Productivity Screen' and go down to Off Road Mode, Arrow Over twice and hit Ok to enable the front camera (from memory).
Sure it would be nicer to have an instant on switch or something to interlock say below 5 mph and in drive on.
Sure like my 36 gal fuel tank though!

Still think best $ spent would be an aftermarket front camera and that tied into a tuner such as the SCT Livewire...A front camera display mounted up on the windshield would just be more productive, especially when trying to off-road unknown territory and look at the front camera. A bit awkward looking down at the center console and not out the windshield when driving. Parking is one thing, in which your typically going slow enough, but trying to ascend/descend and look away from the road....

Any Raptors w/ the factory installed front camera in the Rochester, NY? I would love to snoop the bus on the vehicle in an attempt to make a cheap, purpose built device for forcing the front camera. I have the CAN / LIN analyzers and the experience to do so.

If anyone is interested in being the guinea pig, shoot me a PM.

Good luck. If You figure it out, you'll have people lining up out your door.

from what i know, the video signal is always on. but the signal passes through about 6 different modules before it hits the screen. there is a data pulse at the screen when the camera is activated or deactivated. i dont want to sound like a jerk, but it took nav tv engineers months to crack the data code for the front camera. i dont know what kind of resources you have, but i dont think its as simple as you think it may be.

If there was an option outside of the way overpriced NavTV unit I would be all over it. Sorry but the amount they want to enable a couple basic features is insane. I would spend the money replacing my HU before I wasted it on a NavTV.

$100 device that just enabled the front cam would sell like hot cakes. Hell the NavTV unit probably would sell like crazy if they were $250 instead of the current price that does not even include lube.
