Lol you could use it but when I did.. I felt dumb
Yea, thats the thing. You feel dumb having to do all that to activate the front camera. Its like why even have it when you cant use it 99% of the time.

so far, nav-tv is the only company that can activate the oem front camera. i tried to experiment in the beginning, but got lost after the signal went through the 3rd onboard computer. the signal passed at least 6 different computer modules before it gets to the screen. the engineers at nav-tv were able to crack the code first. there isnt an easy (or cheap) way to get the oem front camera to activate
for all the guys who dont have the oem front camera coastal tech has a solution that includes an oem style front camera. however i checked with them and they dont really provide any type of decent discount for a shop like me, so your best bet would be to go direct with themI think adding an aftermarket camera would be both cheaper and easier. I didn't know what the front camera was for until about a month ago. I crested a ridge in Elko County, Nevada and the trail down the other side was so steep that I couldn't see what was in front of me. The whole hood of the truck was in the way! Nobusa, have you got a line on an aftermarket alternative? For those of us with trucks that don't have the factory camera, an aftermarket alternative might be a pretty attractive alternative.

no screen in your truck? hell, put whatever you want in thereToo rich for my blood, especially since I'd also need to purchase an integrate a monitor.
