From the trucks I've ridden in/driven, all 3.0 trucks end up driving more like a sports car than the cadillac ride we have with the stock shocks, on road. Similar to what @Huck said, you'll end up feeling the road more than before.

Off-road, night and day difference. Especially when you get up to speed, everything smooths out and you can take on bigger terrain without worrying as much about bottoming out or losing control.

So for those who made the switch to Fox 3.0s what are your impressions on the ride for street and off road?

Do you feel it was worth the investment and how much more capable do you feel the truck is...

Where was this thread a month ago!

I just made the blind leap to Fox 3s and because this is literally week 1, i have no off road experience to share yet. Please note I'm also running RPG upper control arms so take this with a grain of salt: They friggin rock.

You'll notice the increased dampening straight out of the driveway because the fronts have an improved spring (I heard it was eibachs top of the line spring) and larger diameter damper + fox patented valve design/stack. Downside: You will feel More "harsh" feedback from the shocks as they're more powerful, but now you'll notice the downstroke dampening, which is also firm, and should feel completely new.

As fox says, it improves Ride Dynamics, so if you want to upgrade in this area the 3.0s are one way.
