Raptor definitely loses on the things it should have in that C&D article. Pretty fair all around.

Now reviewing a new model to a truck that’s been in production for 4 years (based on a F150 platform even older) isn’t exactly apples to apples. Ball is definitely in Ford’s court, looking forward to seeing what’s next.

For those who don't know...that's the first loser....

The Gen 2 Raptor came out in 2016 as a 2017 model. That gave RAM 4 years to tear down, analyze, and benchmark every aspect of the Raptor with the intent to meet or exceed as many attributes as possible. It is not at all uncommon for a newer, much more expensive model to win a comparison test against the current segment leader. Nobody should have expected the Raptor to win, yet here you are gloating about it like it’s some kind of surprise victory.

We won’t have a relevant Raptor to TRX comparison test until Ford comes out with the Gen 3 truck with the Predator engine, should they choose to do so.

Pasted from the other thread as it's relevant here. Dodge and Ram make products that red blooded Americans actually want. Nobody wanted an eco **** engine in a Raptor but Ford jammed it down the throats of enthusiasts as they didn't have any competition at the time. Now that they're getting their ass handed to them, they'll come out with a boosted V8 that everyone wanted initially. Ford screwed up, now they're going to back track and get back to offering what enthusiasts really want. You can thank Ram for that.

Exactly, it's always easier to follow than lead. FCA did a good job pushing the segment forward. The rest of the intangibles (resale, owners program, real world livability, etc) remain unknown on the TRX.

If you lack the emotional intelligence to realize that then I don't know what to tell you.

The reviews are always going to be biased towards the TRX. FCA is paying/comping all these journalists to come drive and write favorable reviews. TFL is the most sceptical of the bunch because they recently got their pee pee slapped by Ford for leaking Bronco pics. Roman is one of the worst of the bunch and would buy a hellcat powered toilet if they made one.

I'm waiting on the Savagegeese review as he seems like one of the few genuine and quality reviewers that can be trusted to not just cream his pants on big HP numbers.

This whole thing doesn't make me feel any differently about my truck, it's still a fast, capable, comfy truck that you can jump with A/C seats on.

Once again...you have no data, no facts, just your own warped perception of reality. Everything you just said is contradicted by every review and the sales numbers as well. Ford didn’t “screw up” in the least, unless you consider a screw up to mean having a popular, profitable vehicle selling, in many cases, for above MSRP. Mainstream consumers are not looking for a vehicle with single digit MPGs, that alienates a significant portion of potential buyers. When you’re charging $90k plus, it’s more of a niche vehicle, so they can afford to have a smaller customer base. Not that I’d expect you to understand the first thing about marketing or the automotive industry in general; you’re clueless.

I haven't seen anything that makes me want a RAM TRX. Personally I like the Raptor - it's just right for me (other than it doesn't sound like a V8 lol)

Something that jumped out at me recently is the TRX is over 800lbs more than the Raptor. That is significant. Obviously, the hellcat engine makes up for it, but it's a heavy a** truck. That extra weight will certainly accelerate component wear over time especially if you're using it aggressively.

The Raptor will continue to dramatically outsell the TRX due to the price point, mileage, perceived quality, reliability, and value. That said I'm happy Stellantis came out with the TRX. It's a sweet truck.
