I have the longer "lowering" shackles. Will take a pic and post shortly.

Tizz you have alot of things going on under your bed.

Lowers truck, would also give more droop travel as the arc radius is bigger
This shit gets complex, not for the mechanically challenged !

OK... now I'm really confused. In front you are on top perch. In rear, you have removed 2" blocks, added +1 Deavers, and lowering shackles. Is your truck still level? Were the lower shackles needed to maximize travel with the 3" Fox and cage?

No longer on the top perch. I'm now on the bottom perch with the Daystar spacer. I have the +2" Deavers so my ass end was really in the air. These shackles drop the rear about an 1" and if you notice there is an option on the shackle to go lower. I really only put on the shackles for aesthetics but hopefully there is more travel to be gained from this setup.

No, you will sit 2+" lower than stock. The +1 Deavers are an inch+ lower than stock (1 1/2 on mine after 30,000 miles). I just had Deaver work some magic on my spring pack to get me a little over stock ride hieght. The +1's were sitting a little low especially for my bumpstop kit. If you are planning on any sort of bumpstop kit I wouldn't recommend lowering the rear end. Not enough uptravel to allow the suspension to work before the bumps come into play. I haven't had a chance to go offroad with the new springs on but around town it feels much better.

The longer the shackle the more leverage you have on the pivot point. Meaning the spring is able to arch more and a softer ride, not really a difference in travel, specially because most of you have the shocks as the limiting factor. You will notice this more on the Deaver springs over the stock ones.

Longer shackle is a bad idea. More leverage at the spring and the rearend side to side movement will increase. Do it right and change the springs. If you want to lower the rear to level it remove the lift block under the spring.

With those you will have a greater chance of bottoming the shock out and destroying it.
Are the stock Raptor's using ever inch of the shock at bump?

Move that shackle bolt up to the other bolt hole and the truck will handle much better. I've used lowering shackles on quite a few trucks and I'm always surprised at how much better a truck will handles just by lowering the COG 1 inch.

Low and Wide=stability

What's your take regarding distance between the bump stops and strike pad? I'll need to measure but I think I'm about 1 1/2" off the pad with no weight in the bed.

Does that not add a ton of stress to the lower shackle bolt? Since the long shackle will act like a big lever ?

Who's lowering shackle is that? Desert race trucks have used longer shackles for years, the theory is solid. For high speed desert driving, lower is better! You can look at the evolution of the fast desert race trucks. In the 80's, the class 8 trucks were very high. They needed every bit of up travel they could get. Todays trophy trucks sit very low. Most of the travel is from full droop, only a fraction of the up travel is available at ride height.
