I’m guessing many of you are like me... in that, you have a significant other that probably doesn’t give a crap about all things Raptor that get us so excited. But... even so, sometimes we still just have to talk about it. Right?

Excited because i had ordered my OBD2 USB Adapter and its coming tomorrow... I told the wife i had bought something so I could mess around with my Forscan. Stopped her in her tracks. I thought holy $hit... she’s actually interested. She said “Huh”? “What Forscan”? We went back and forth for a bit... before we figured out what each other was talking talking about!

“SCAN... honey. ForSCAN. Not skin”!!!

I think she wet her pants a little... but false alarm... she still couldn’t give a $hit about the truck.

Sorry... but had to share this one!

I'm interested in making some changes with Forscan, but don't want to affect my CPO warranty. Will a dealership be able to see the Forscan programming or take any issue with it?

Well, perhaps it was a good opportunity to order something she could use to mess around with your forscan [emoji6].

There has been a lot of discussion about the possibility that changes via forscan to the APIM at least may be communicated to Ford during the syncs on our trucks. Whether it is or isn’t shouldn’t matter unless the change directly causes a part to fail that is covered under the CPO warranty. Since the changes are just software for the most part, it would be highly unlikely that they could cause a part to fail, e.g. changing DRLs or adding temperature displays to display or folding mirrors with door lock. These changes are not like a CPU tune or other performance modification which does have the potential to cause a part to fail theoretically (increased turbo pressures, altered air/fuel ratios, etc).

How a specific dealer service dept. views them is likely variable. I’m not worried about the forescan changes to my truck and probably wouldn’t bother loading back as built values for routine service. If you are concerned, ask the service dept. where you would get service and see what they say.o

Good points. I agree that if the dealer took the time to review the actual changes made that there should be no issue. Modifying when your mirrors fold has no impact on the reliability of your drivetrain. My concern would be that they would see that there was any change made to the computer at all and deny a claim without any further research. However, I think that would be a pretty extreme reaction and probably very unlikely to happen.

Had a good day on the computer!

Only thing I didn’t do, not sure if I want to, is mirror tilts down in reverse

If you or anyone else has enabled the mirror tilt down let us know how well it works.

I don’t think I’m going to for myself, but I could do it temporarily if some one just needs feedback? I reverse for plenty of reasons that don’t require the tilt, and I don’t think I’ll enjoy using that feature.
