What? We have been planting the same crops for 100's of years lol.

So, you have been planting a non-food crop for 100's of years--before even the dawn of the internal combustion engine--to make ethanol? Must be a lot of thirsty boozers and hungry cows up where you're from.

Vegetable and other bio-fuels are not the answer--in fact they are a terrible idea. If left to compete on the open market without government mandates and subsidies, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Nevertheless, I respect a man that can raise a crop and bring it to harvest. Let's just look elsewhere for our energy.

I'm just asserting questions the best I can.

About 349 million acres are planted out of that only about 3 million is used for vegetables.

We are not using food to make ethanol. We do use cattle feed corn and take the starch out before feeding it witch make a superior feed. A lot of starch is bad for cattle. Farmers feed the world the price of yellow corn is 2.80 again nothing elce has dropped in price that is greed. Farmers made money for about two years lol.
