Hi Guys,

I've seen mention on this forum, that I can't seem to find now, of a BakFlip F1 cover sold by Ford that's slightly different than the F1 you get elsewhere. Is this true? Can anyone explain the difference in the two? Also, can anyone supply the Ford product #?

Thanks...

I called Bak about a year ago. They told me the Ford OEM cover has thicker seals and was more like the HD (aluminum), not the F1 (top panel is FRP). However, at that time, they also said that one day, the Ford OEM might change to the F1.

On a similar note, I saw a truck on Ebay that had a Ford Bedrug. It was a full out bedrug, but with the Ford logo on the front right corner of the bed where the bedrug logo normally is. I was definitely jealous!

^ that is pretty sweet. I'm surprised nobody else has come out with one like that yet. I've got a roll-up cover on my '85 and it sucks once it starts to stretch over the years and sag and collect water.

Couldn't reall tell in that vid how the sides seal, is it magnetic or velcro? My soft one is velcro and gets old after a while needing something in the front of the bed, having to roll it allllll the way forward, then back, then push the velcro down. I went with the bakflip for my Raptor to have much quicker access in and out to the full bed.

One thing I do like about it is it doesn't seam like it will have the "rattle" other roll ups have.

Also heard about another model they are coming out with, something between the HD and F1 ? and a update to the F1. Just chat on forums though, could be BS. Where's Morrie ?

Still a fan of the F1.

I don't have the part number handy, nor do I know the exact differences, but do I have the Ford version if you have any questions about it or want pics to compare; let me know. I think that the main difference is in the seals.

I also have the Ford version of the bedrug. The only difference there that I can see is the logo.

the ford one is not the F1, it is the HD made of aluminum... if I am correct. Call Backflip and they will tell you for sure.

KeithS, is the top surface of your cover aluminum or FRP? Thanks.
