As of yesterday, my dealership connection has heard zero info about allocation. Mind you, we are in a raptor demand saturated market too.

When you have the two owners asking me if I've heard anything, you know dialogue from corporate to dealerships is non existent.

Not saying certain dealers haven't heard more but I find it hard to believe that this info has been shared with only select dealers... How are they allocating 4 for August to a certain dealer as stated above when production hasn't even started?

Ford, just like every other manufacturer gives out allocation to dealers every month. They have to make sure they always have enough orders in their order bank to keep their plants running at 100% but not every dealer gets allocation for every model every month.

At the beginning of a model year manufactures divide up the first quarter build allocations to all of it's dealers (in most cases).

With most manufactures it is a "turn and earn" allocation system meaning if you sell "X" number of a model in the last month (or quarter)(or last year if it is the 1st quarter) then they give you "X" number of allocations to replace what you sold. Sometimes their are more allocations of a model available if any dealers who have them don't use all the allocations that they were given.

That is why usually high volume dealers get more allocations then low volume dealers. It is a smart way to sell. Would you want your product just sitting on a shelf or in a showroom that does not sell it?? It is the same here with our forum vendors, they will give/get priority to the best products if they do more volume then a vendor that does not.

We have not been told much from Ford. We were given 4 order bank allocations for Raptors (we can place the orders and they will be filled) but no info on the time frame when the orders will be put through or any info if the 4 we got is it for the whole year or if we will get more later.

I hope this explanation helps.

I think this may go inland with my other tread of "is ford having trouble making these" maybe parts lined up?? the ECO boost engine is suppose to be high output similar to the Ford GT; so getting those engines lined up will significant etc I have no idea how many Ford dealerships are out there but if someone says a limit of a MAX of 4 per dealership maybe sound right.

Parts supply or any parts quality problems do play a roll in model allocation but most times we the dealers are NEVER told the reason for the hold up or lack of some model allocations or availability.

I place orders for Infiniti and Maserati cars every month and some times I can order anything I want and sometimes the system will not let me pick an option or a package and I am not given any reason why. I can call my dealer rep and ask him and only sometimes he knows why.

Limited as in fixed. Ford hasnt scheduled a fixed number of units, but has stated they will attempt fulfill all retail orders.

They have always done that. 2014 was the highest production year and it was still less than 2%. It's a limited production vehicle. GT350s have a "fixed" number of less than 5000 units and it's about 4% of overall Mustang sales.

Ramx, at least there is one person posting facts in this thread. Thanks for your factual input, that I can confirm is 100% accurate.

A good rule of thumb to most of the other speculators....if you don't know what you are talking about, read and learn, don't post a bunch of crap you think may be the case.
