I'd like to see Outlaw back up their claim that Raptor frames are bending all over the country.

Until that hard evidence is provided, it's all anecdotal and deflection.

You're right Tim, I'd like to see them provide that as well.

And as I said, the issue is not if people are bending their frames; it's HOW they're bending their frames so if he's making it into an issue regarding Ford's design then he'd need to address that. I'm not saying he is blaming Ford for frames bending but it sure sounds like he's at least insinuating that based on my read of the article you linked to. Why is he saying people all over are bending their frames (well, besides to deflect blame from himself)?

Both SDHQ and Outlaw are claiming this is happening. The only difference, everyone that has reported it to them is aware that it was not the responsibility of Ford to fix.

On another note I think it goes to show Ford stands behind the design by continuing to keep the warranty in place after the frame is bent back to within spec by a Ford dealer. I am not took sure any other company would be offering to keep your warranty intact after you bent the frame.

Anyone notice he said the raptor was limited at 100mph from the factory, and these guys must have modified there ecu to go faster?

Is it really limited at 100? Seems a little low for this type of truck.

I have taken the Raptor on the road and floored it until it would not go any faster and it stopped at 100mph. The tires are rated for a slightly higher speed if I remember correctly but I think it is a precaution on Ford's part.

Edited to state that by no means am I condoning speeding on public roads.

If these ***holes who blatantly abuse their vehicles continue to push this issue, I really hope Ford doesn't decide to halt production of the Raptor sooner than later. Ford never produces specific SVT vehicle models forever, and all of the whining and scrutiny might motivate the company execs to say "screw it."

Thankfully they already said "screw it" and we have the real four door model for 2011.

Can't imagine what we'd get if they said "**** it"!

I doubt that they will cancel the production because of some customers damaging their trucks... same thing happened with other performance cars/trucks... users push the limits, try to get it covered under warranty... then the manufacturer denies the claim. Happens all the time (like with the Cobras and Lightenings getting their engines blown because of customers pushing the limits) never affected their production...

I fail to see how makking the truck fail-safe, which is what they did, is worse than trying to make it foolproof, which is impossible. Everything Jamal said was completely correct, they knew people would exeed their trucks limit and did what they could engineering-wise to protect thier customers when it happened. The most significant thing I learned from this is that a frame bending doesnt constitute abuse and automatically void the warranty. Most people that bent thier trucks blamed themselves for exeeding its capabilities, and didnt expect Ford to fix it. Its only when you convince yourself that Ford garenteed you an invincible vehicle that you have hard feelings about it. This "issue" doesnt deserve the attention its gotten.

TrueTrue:bananarock: But this has blown up way too big. 800 bucks and a week later you get the truck back and no hit on the warranty? BlueSVT needs to shut up and count his blessings. No other manufacturer could watch that video and claim the truck wasnt abused, or even consider giving him his warranty back knowing how fast they were running, with suspension mods and the limiter taken off (on some of them, not all).
