I figured as much but since they basically said nothing was done that didn't have to do be done for safety reasons I was hoping..
Wonder if that means it's unsafe to do heavy off-roading with the stock 3.0's and a heavy load of gear?
Gas tank in bed?
@Yukon Joe
A full roll cage, full fuel cell, multiple spares, tools, etc adds a lot of weight. Im sure you`ll survive on stock suspension with similar setup for short offroad trips, but would not over the course of a full race season, especially 1000 miles in baja
Fuel cells are required to race, it is in the bed.
Agreed!
A stock Raptor is an enthusiast truck...a starting platform. When it comes to a serious race like the Baja 1000, the factory setup want get you far. You need to upgrade a few things as well as comply with racing rules.
Now i read an article on the truck Ford is entering in the Baja 1000. It says the truck has 450 hp and 510 ft tq. Is this the power numbers for production models or is these tuned numbers for the race? It's not much more than a 6.2. Raptor, I understand the 2017 weighs less.
All 2017 Raptors have 450Hp & 510TQ. The race truck is stock performance wise, no tuners or anything. And yes the 2017s weigh approx 500lbs less
Thanks,
So have they started shipping the 2017 or are they just taking orders. The wife is on to me about my "old" truck and thinks I need a new one
Not sure if they've shipped any, I know they are supposed to be shipping some any day now.
