I must be getting super lucky because it’s been below 0 to a high of 5 for several days here in NH and I have not had this issue knock on wood LOL. What a pain in the ass. I wonder why some freeze and some don’t if it’s a design issue?

I think it has more to do with transitioning from above freezing to well below freezing and moisture content in the air as well as condensation in the door. You may be lucky or you may have a better sealed door or maybe you have extra grease somewhere that everyone else doesn’t. I had a 17’ super duty and ran it through 1.5 CHICAGO winters and never had an issue but my raptor latches froze.

Mine is in today for the second time getting this fixed. Mine wont close on the passenger side and it wont open on the driver side - go figure lol

Either way i hope this is the last of this issue for me. They are claiming it was related to a faulty door handle on the passenger side issue so that is getting replaced. The driver side just started acting up so we will see what they say there.

Please keep us posted on what they tell you before and after the service. Sometimes there seems to be multiple reasons they give for why the problem occurred and how they actually fixed it. If we see a pattern, maybe we'll know for sure what's going on and the best way to take care of it.

I have a late production 18 with the metal oil pan, my passenger door has been the only one to freeze. It has done this a bunch of times. Not feeling good about the dealer opening up the door panel and putting it back together correctly. Shouldn’t the late production 18s have this update during assembly?

Passenger door froze open again last night in 8deg temp. I pulled the door plug below the latch and ran a blow dryer for about 20min, spayed a small amount of wd40 on the latch too. It worked fine this morning at 0deg temp. Hope this cures it!!

Had mine fixed 2 weeks ago during a cold spell of around 18 degrees. Driver side rear door once opened wouldn't shut and after it warmed up a bit in the afternoon it finally latched. Dealer said it takes over a day to complete the fix (they do all 4 doors like someone else mentioned.) I've now tested all 4 doors down to single digits with no issues after the repair.

My truck has all of the latch updates and still froze.
