Good point - I think some are seeing both symptoms, but yes, the cable and its housing area need to be hosed down with a lubricant that isn’t going to easily degrade from water and not freeze. Aerosolized white lithium grease is fairly low viscosity - some more than others, but should work great for this application.

Exactly!! This is why pulling door plugs and drying it out with a blow dryer is important!

MY SCAB GOES IN TUESDAY FOR RECALL.DRIVERS DOOR IS ONLY ONE FREEZING ONLY AFTER IT HAS BEN LOCKED.SAD TO SAY TRUCK HASNT BEEN LOCKED SINCE DECEMBER.HOPE IT WORKS.UPSTATE NY HAS BEEN 0 AND BELOW LAST WEEK.I THINK PROBLEM COMES FROM ITS IN GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND SITS OUTSIDE ALL DAY.HIT AUTO START AND CNT LATCH DOOR.
