they stow on the sides of the bed they have hooks

As I’m looking at my new gen 3 with the work surface, there’s no screw holes that match up with the plate from my prior generation tailgate that allows the ramps to clamp on. That said, I’m wondering if anyone has just drilled into the plastic work surface tailgate to try and secure this thing? It’s really a shame if these ramps aren’t compatible with the gen 3 truck, I use mine all the time.
