I’ve agreed not to ever post the video. The owner worked so hard to fix things, I wouldn’t want any negative publicity to come to his business as a result of this mechanic. It’s not the GM’s fault what the mechanic did and the GM did everything he could to address it to my satisfaction.

I’m sorry to all those waiting for the video. It’s not THAT exciting though - no jumping or burnouts.

I will see if I can post a pic of the dash cam install that some have asked for.

Inquiring minds want to know exactly what actions the GM took to make things right. No need to mention the dealer or post video.

New 2020 Raptor ordered below invoice and they are giving you full retail on your trade? Extended warranty for as long as you own the truck?

Just in case the civil matter is weak, have you checked the state code? you have to do some digging but let’s just say i’m ‘familiar with’ a state code entitled ‘unlawful use of an animal, aircraft, vehicle or boat’ which sounds a little Arkansas/rednecky, but, it’s a class 6 felony, and very easy to make a conviction on thanks to the courts. We’ll say that I’ve been successful at leveraging the threat of this warrant being issued to ensure someone wasn’t screwed with for --hyptothetically-- having a firearm in their vehicle on private property against employment policy.

I was afraid this was going to be a, "So my sheep and I went into a bar", story.

There’s a lesson to be learned for anyone that has work done on personal property. Whether at a dealership or otherwise.

This is awesome to hear. So many times it goes the other way. Since we don't know the dealers' name or location can you give us an idea of what happened in the truck and what the dealer did to resolve the situation?

I loved this story when it first hit the Raptor airwaves many years ago! Now that everything is resolved to the OP satisfaction, your post made me laugh out loud at the thought of the mechanic taking it for a short test drive in the woods.

I bet there are 250-300 Ford dealers in Texas. We don't know what city you are in, or even what county of Texas IF you even bought it in the state.

I'm not really sure where not posting the video that you talked about for 10 pages would harm or help the dealer. The same with not posting what the settlement was.

This has been a "I found a safe" thread without ever showing us what was in the safe.

And here is a great example of what is wrong with our legal system. It costs an astronomical amount of money to be RIGHT. I'm in the middle of a business lawsuit and paying a lawyer $650 per hour to defend myself. It's a completely frivolous lawsuit but I had to come up with a $50,000 retainer regardless. Sometimes the judge will allow you to recoup your legal fees but it's not common and my lawyer said don't expect it.

Your best bet is exactly what you're doing. Work with the owner until you can't anymore.

Feel for you. Really. The legal profession (and I use that term loosely) is in the business of leaching. We are at least in the top 3 or 4 countries in terms of number of lawyers per capita. As a doc, I’ve seen literally dozens of frivolous lawsuits thrown at me and colleagues. Fortunate to have never settled or lost. Just a huge waste of time and money; and such a huge amount of stress. Lawyers made out like bandits in every case; their clients got nothing or lost money, and I lost money. Sorry for my rant but you struck a nerve. Impossible to change. Torte reform would require the Senate and House to pass a bill...but that’s impossible...cuz they are mostly....yeah, that’s right...Lawyers.
