Hate that "this" happened as much as everyone else does to the OP... but this secret squirrel stuff is starting to grow a bit weary. haha

Or maybe it's just me and I'm a curious and impatient bastard, but at this point I'm thinking some info or video or even a screen shot would go a long way to making this not nearly so.... vague? lol

Drjacks, I sent you a pm. Hold off on posting it , once you do nearly all leverage and negotiating comes to a end and your exposure to what can be a crippling lawsuit increases tenfold despite you being the victim, depending on the ownership and situation some would and will file. Its a bad PR move but they also feel if its public they don’t have much to lose, at a minimum you would have to retain representation which would cost you several thousand right out the gate. I have had similar situations with other mfgs and also dealt with a dirty ford dealership as recently as Jan 2020 , one of the reasons I’m driving a 2020 raptor right now and no longer a 2018. I have also been on the initiating end of libel lawsuits and walked away from each instance collecting a judgement and teaching a lesson.

Be cool and think it out , I can help you navigate this with ease. But again you have to be reasonable, the video would have to be really awful to demand a buyback or get yourself in a new vehicle.

And here is a great example of what is wrong with our legal system. It costs an astronomical amount of money to be RIGHT. I'm in the middle of a business lawsuit and paying a lawyer $650 per hour to defend myself. It's a completely frivolous lawsuit but I had to come up with a $50,000 retainer regardless. Sometimes the judge will allow you to recoup your legal fees but it's not common and my lawyer said don't expect it.

Your best bet is exactly what you're doing. Work with the owner until you can't anymore.

This is a great post. I totally understand the lawyer thing and that is probably why we do not have specifics; however, there must be some way that you could let us know how badly your vehicle was abused without mentioning any dealer or names or anything that would bring you up for liable. You have received some great advice from whom I assume are lawyers but they must have some way for you to let us peons know what happened since this thread is now twelve pages long.

By the way, I was in the retail grocery business for many years and understand ******* plaintiff attorneys for sure.

I would now consider the situation to be resolved. The GM bent over backwards to make things right. I am really impressed with his professionalism.

I’ve agreed not to ever post the video. The owner worked so hard to fix things, I wouldn’t want any negative publicity to come to his business as a result of this mechanic. It’s not the GM’s fault what the mechanic did and the GM did everything he could to address it to my satisfaction.

I’m sorry to all those waiting for the video. It’s not THAT exciting though - no jumping or burnouts.

I will see if I can post a pic of the dash cam install that some have asked for.
