This is interesting:

I know im going to change my oil around 4-5k anyway. Ill probably stick the the Fl-500. I have also loved Wix oil filters. The XP is not much more then the motocraft FL-500s if someone wanted more of a performance filter with a little better filtration media.

a Wix XP with a set of filter-mags and 4-5k interval might be my ticket

This video confirmed the fact that I like the FP Racing filter the best of all. More flow, better filtration and still a factory part. I will say that I only do about 8-9k miles per year so I'm only doing 2 oil changes a year... The extra $35/year is insignificant IMO. If I were doing many more changes, I might rethink that as I change every 5k or so.
