I was thinking the supercharged 6.2L from the Shelby raptor as an option, it'd probably be able to keep up with the old lightnings then, and it might help ford make a profit off of the development of that engine

Why do you say ford developed "that" engine? It's just a normal ford 6.2 with another companies supercharger.

I was refering to the tuning for the powertrain, 575 is not what whipple makes, and ford racing even did their tune, so ford made 2 seperate tunes for the whipple supercharger, one for the aftermarket, and one for the factory

I say we give the tremor some time the way it is and see what it can do.

im a V8 guy but u are right fletch. i think with some bolt ons and tuning the tremor could be pretty quick. look at the numbers mike from 5 star is pushing out of the ecoboost now. that motor does seem to be mod friendly, much more than the 6.2....

i was saying 5.0 because its a more common motor with more aftermarket support. we are very limited with our 6.2 as far as parts for it. try to build a 6.2 and a 5.0 and see how much aftermarket support there is for each and then look at the prices. 5.0 is an easier cheaper way to go.

Yeah, but if the tremor is supposed to be a performance truck and came with the 6.2, I think we would see a good rise in performance parts available to is raptor guys.

That would be nice to see more 6.2's out there so more parts are made for us but that's obviously not how ford is thinking....whatever ford is doing it this way and debating over what would be better at this point won't change a thing

so I'm guessing livernois, whipple, roush, procharger, hennessey(yeah they're crap, but if you do the tune and install yourself, you'll be better off, and they do use good parts most of the time), volant, 5 star, kooks, AFE, stainless works, Airaid, K&N, diablosport, SCT, superchips, and all the other vendors don't make any performance upgrades for the 6.2L, look around, there are a ton of performance mods for the 6.2L, no, we don't get all the small name companies building stuff for the 6.2L, because we spent 50k+ on a truck, are you gonna get some cheap mod that will more likely damage the truck than improve performance? The small name companies have to build stuff for engines with 100k+ production numbers to be able to make any profit. The 6.2L engine has every mod covered, we just have a few very high quality products, instead of a crapton of low quality products you have to sift through to find anything worth even spending money on, to get the same quality product for a 5.0L, you'll be spending the same amount of money, and remember, the 6.2L is at the very base of what it could be, it has 2 valve heads, low tech head design, bare bones exhaust manifolds, single overhead cams with emission focused variable valve actuation, the throttle is limited to 20% until you get over 3,500 rpm, it has capability for direct injection, but they're not in there yet, a non-performance oriented intake manifold, it has amazing potential, whereas the 5.0L is halfway to as far as it can go from the factory, and it makes the same amount of power

Yes there are lots of basic bolt on parts for the 6.2. Now try to put a cam in it or any other internal. Besides livernios we have no other option. Just because we spent 50k plus doesnt mean we need to pay big dollars and mods all the time I was absolutely not bashing anyone's products. Like I said there is no point in arguing it. I am not sure why so many people here lately are ready to argue over non-sense.

So do u have links to share with all these parts to make it direct injection and all the other stated mods that can help it meet its potential.....

I just like debating the 6.2L, and I believe that livernois has cams and cranks, and if you're going into internals you do not wanna go cookie cutter mods, blueprint the engine and get custom internals made specifically for your engine, every block is different, if you go to a mod shop and just buy pistons, chances are you're gonna have very tight and very loose clearances, which will turn into major engine damage in the long run

besides, if people who do know never talk about it in the public forums, people who don't know never will, the spreading of information and facts is the main thing I try to do, if it happens to be in the form of a debate, oh well
