I’m going to start ordering cheap parts for the highest priced VIN numbers on the lot. Imagine the outrage when the dealer tries to sell a brand new fully loaded Roushe Raptor R.... with minor damage that never left the showroom floor.

oh... even better... next time you guys are eyeing a new truck on the lot, go order a 5$ part, then get yourself a nice CarFax discount :anitoof:
Brilliant... lol Yeah its going to be a mess when word gets out what they are doing.... I will personally never provide my VIN again.

Same story here...... lost about $3k when the carfux said my Shelby had "Frame Damage". I paid an auto-inspector to check the frame and he could find nothing. I crawled around every inch of the chassis and underbody and could not find anything. The new buyer was a body shop guy. He crawled al over as well and could not find anything -- had all the factory glue and seam sealer! Long story short, impossible to work with carfux and it sucks!
Yeah carfax really needs a class action against them. That sucks sorry.
Like some of the others, CarNoFax is not at all a valued service in my mind. The wifey wanted a new ride so we found an almost new BMW at the Toyota dealer, it had less than 8k miles and looked brand new. We asked the dealer why they traded it and was told that they did not like the ride and how it drove. We thought it had a front end issue because it sort of pulled when driven and had the CarNoFax pulled, it was clean. We were told by the BMW delaer that it was all wheel drive and that the front end would pull when accelerating hard. 4 years later go to sell it and now CarNoFax is reporting that the vehicle had front end damage on it, but did not make the report when we were purchasing the vehicle. Total scam, I almost refuse any vehicle CarNoFax report now.
Another nightmare.... *** sake this company is worthless

You could post this information on Ford's and Carfax Facebook page to try and get public support. It's been helpful to some that had issues and were quickly resolved once it went public.
Yeah social media is strong in that aspect. I may do that.. Going to wait for the response to my last email. Thanks

Similar situation here too! My wife’s Fusion was hit by an elderly woman. Carfax has all kinds of bs damage listed like air bags deployed and a bunch of crap. Took pictures and sent damage report from the body shop, write up from my insurance company. After 6-8 months of fighting those ********, we lost. Claim they get their information from law enforcement ant the ones I listed above. Then after this battle, ******** had the nerve to send a customer service survey... I hold no value in their information.

Damn, still gets my blood boiling.

Watch what happens now, Carfax will have a class action suite at some point. Soon as people figure this issue out they will order parts and use a vehicles VIN from a listing on Ebay, from a mall parking lot, or stroll through a dealership and take a picture. Imagine that? You purchase a new vehicle and a month later you have minor damage from a date that is before you purchased the vehicle... lol... Let a dealership go through this ******** and watch how the company takes a different stance on it.

I like the way you think! Take pics of the VIN of vehicles sitting on their lot to get the parts you need. Let dealerships deal with the headache.

CarF*ck is the worst!!! My wife had a MB. Never in a crash (not even a scratch on it) with all scheduled maintenance performed. We went to trade it in and told the dealer it was clean. They called me a short time later basically accusing me of lying because the car f*cks said it had been in 4 crashes!!!! One in Oklahoma!!! The car NEVER left NJ!!!! They also over reported the miles by nearly double and had services performed in parts of the state hundreds of miles from our home that we never had been to!!! Tring to contact them is a joke and when I did get an "on-line" response the representative hung up on me "virtually" when I typed that I thought it was ridiculous (no profanity, just the word ridiculous) that they said it was on ME to prove their reporting was wrong. They are TOTAL D-BAGS. I got no where until I contacted NY 7 On Your Side News. Luckily I keep extensive records. They did a news story on it and the car-f*cks finally corrected the report because they were shamed into it on TV. I have a ton of messages on my Ford-Pass saying my truck is overdue for service because I don't use a car-f*ck reporting shop to perform oil changes or tire rotations. The problem is that they have been deemed by car companies and shops, that get a kick-back from them for reporting, as the gold standard so they are automatically believed over you.

If I ever saw that Car-Fox on the road, I'd run his ass over!!!

Good luck!!!

I know what you mean about the Carfax stating you are over the mileage or date of the oil change and tire rotation. I do all the work on my truck myself also, other safety recalls that have to be done by a dealer. I found on car fax that you can adjust services due if you update the information and select that the work was performed by yourself!

I hope that this doesn't jack with my Carfax report but it's what I have been doing since I owned the truck. I keep all of the receipts for materials purchased when anything is done to the truck.

I’ve heard a lot of horror stories with carfax, coworker told me he had his showing minor damage from a busted tail light that he had repaired. Ridiculous
Yup, exactly... same ********.... Its their MO

Right.... I bet carfax wont have them jumping through hoops... I bet then that policy gets changed with Ford if it has any affect on their pockets

I called the dealer to get a price on the plastic bumper piece and they said they needed my VIN. Why do you need my vin when I gave you the part number? Still need your VIN. No thanks. I knew something was fishy. Should have used the VIN from one of the trucks on their lot like someone already mentioned. WTF
