I see a few Raptor to Tremor posts...I am likely going this route as well

Do you regret it??? Did you go gas or diesel and why?? I am thinking of making the switch to a diesel Tremor. I had some recent major issues with my Raptor that may force me to move on from it unfortunately because I love the truck - best all around vehicle I have owned until now...

I tow a fair amount especially in the winter so a Tremor would certainly be up for the challenge, I am just thinking I will miss the all around fun I have driving the raptor everyday. 1050 ft/lbs doesn't sound all that boring either though! It would be my first diesel so not quite sure what I am in for - anyone have experience with these in extreme cold and did you have issues with fuel gelling?

I cross shopped one pretty hard when my ‘18 raptor got totaled....drove nearly everything out there for trucks (aside from Nissan & Toyota....if they had a new tundra out maybe would’ve considered) 1/2 ton & heavy duty

if I didn’t find the new 2020 raptor I’m in now (& it was getting almost impossible to find a well optioned 801a truck even back in November) I would be driving a 6.7 diesel Tremor

I was astonished how well ALL fords superduty trucks rode unladen, way way better than I ever remember & better than both Ram & GMs current offerings.

also like the idea of any HD truck over a 1/2 ton in that if you’re not pushing it to the limit all day every - & really even if you are this still rings true- but ALL the running gear & wear parts are just that much beefier b/c manufacturers KNOW many owners will be beating the hell outta them in the real world so the brakes/bushings/motor mounts/spindles/A-arms/tie rods/bearings/diffs/cooling condensers/ etc etc etc are all
Overbuilt & should translate to better long term reliability & lower wear part replacement costs.

in a way b/c of the way the Raptor is designed & its performance intent it kinda bridges the gap between a light & heavy duty pickup in that regard

I will say....unladen the diesel
Is outrageously powerful & it’s tough keeping the wheels from
Spinning even driving normally....this is something to consider if you’re not loading it up all the time & say you’re in the winter on roads that are partially plowed....the SD trucks do not offer 4 “auto” or AWD function like 1/2 tons & the raptor- so if the roads are partially plowed where you get alternating patches of packed snow, ice, & dry pavement you can’t run the SD trucks in 4hi in those conditions & that is one thing that concerned me- wish the SD trucks had the same 4A option as the 1/2 tons b/c in a way they almost Need it more

that being said- the 7.3 gasser felt a lil underpowered to me, & would definitely be more noticeable if you were loaded up w/ stuff or towing

I personally wouldn’t mess w/ a gasser HD truck unless i was using it strictly for work or as a plow truck. The power, capability, & resale value is FAR superior w/ a diesel

Hope that helps

I enjoy how the raptor looks, I have not towed anything yet but as I start racing again (motorcycles) and the purchase of my final house, maybe I'll get into towing more for various reasons.

I feel like if you buy the tremor, you need it for massive towing reasons.

Ehhh what’s “massive” ? In the HD truck world, it’s not what the Tremor is rated for- that would go to the standard 6.7 SD trucks or better yet- a dually

tremor will double the towing capacity of a the raptor & do it better- but b/c of the suspension changes & its performance intent, the Tremor’s towing capacity is the lowest of all Ford diesel trucks

Well help me then lol.

F150 - Regular truck shit
Raptor - Regular and offroad
250 superduty - Regular truck, construction, tow
350 superduty - ^ That shit but tow heavier shit
Tremor - All truck shit, less wheels than a dually, more tow capacity than a dually, more luxurious?

I tow around 5k-6k fairly often - of my 46k miles accumulated on my Raptor, 15k had a trailer behind it. I agree on the gasser/diesel argument I was just wondering if that new 7.3L had the grunt required to make these feel "fun" to drive. I am 99% sure I will go diesel I just have some worries about cold weather performance or is that a thing of the past??

i don’t think much to be concerned bout w/ diesel other than a) adding DEF & b) deciding when/if you wanna say “F my warranty & that ******** DEF crap” & rip it out for more power & a tune lol

get an engine block heater if real cold area, it ain’t like a dump truck w/ glow plugs tho lol
