Why not just carry a compact compressor?

That's what I do, but I carry one since sometimes the air station isn't running when i leave the beach, driving 10 miles on 16lbs psi to get air is not ideal.

The one thing people should do though is make sure the mechanism works and is lubed once a year. :ROFLJest: The mechanism that drops the spare you pigs.

The GEN1 will not monitor the spare and even if you did have a TPMS in it, you would have to move it to the location and have the tool to relearn the sensors.

Will the GEN2 monitor the spare under the bed if you do install a TPMS?

No, it won’t. TPMS sensors need the wheel to be actually moving to grab the pressure.
However, installing a TPMS sensor might allow you to include the spare in your tire rotation plan. Without the sensor, you’ll get a TPMS failure if you run the spare.

Wonder how my 2005 Toyota Tundra did it then. Don’t think it has to be moving. Seems for Ford to add this to the full spare would be a no-brainer.

The tire doesn't have to be moving, I watch the pressure drop on all 4 tires (Trailhead tire deflators) as I am airing down for the beach.
