When I jacked mine up, it seemed like they were colored plastic and perhaps cleared.

You couldn't post your find three months ago I could have saved $400 for one new flare.

I've been wanting to tone down the front skids, this is going to be my cheap solution.

I don't think you'll be able to tell much, but here ya go...
The flares with the decals showing are the rear flares painted with Rust Oleum, the other 2 are front flares with the factory paint!
I assure you in person they look the same. I painted the flare a couple of weeks ago with the Rust Oleum can and haven't touched it. The painted one could benefit from a few minutes of compound work to even out the "spray can" finish, although it's not bad. And then a coat of wax.
