Thanks for all the great tips guys! It seems less scary now.

I did have a question about the foam canons. they wont work on the type of power washer that has the adjustable tip right? they go into the quick connect style?

Here is the best deal I think you will find for the Foam Cannon. You need to decide on what's best for you if you get a pressure washer, but like I said unless you spend a lot of money, a $200 electric from Costco is just a piece of crap IMO. But Ted is right the Master Blaster is great, expensive but worth it.

One more vote for Adams. As crazy as it sounds detailing is one of my hobbies and I have been addicted to the shine for about 7 years now. I have used Meguiars mostly but recently made a full switch to Adams. Their detailing accessories, such as microfiber towels, brushes, etc. are probably the best I have used. It is a little pricey but I am willing to pay for quality.

Do yourself a favor and watch a few Adams YouTube videos that will give you the basics on detailing your truck. There is a lot of things to learn.

Have fun and have a lot of beer available because the Raptor is BIG

Here is what I purchased for my washing and detailing:

Adam's Essential Detail Kit

Also: Extra bucket w/ grit guard, 2 double soft towels, 1 extra single soft towel, glass cleaner w/ towel, leather conditioner w/ applicator.

All top notch stuff. Thanks to the weather and currently recovering from hernia surgery, I haven't been able to get my full detail done yet. But I hope to very soon.

Raptorsv,
True! but one may get lucky :) Most electric power washers break down but I've seen people who have had them for years with no problems, thats why I recommend whatever Costco is carrying due to their return policy. I will actually be exchange mine tomorrow for a new one. My gas PW is too loud and too strong (standard 3500 psi) to wash the truck, the little electric one is quiet, easy to handle and cant do any serious damage, unlike my wife :)

Thegreatdew,

The MTM foam canon listed above at Amazon is the one you want, great reviews from various forums. I've noticed the foam canon really makes a difference if your really dirty or have a few cars to wash, knocks them out quick. I usually do 3 daily driver cars at once and it saves a ton of time, which allows me to spend more time on the Raptor or working around the house. Between the foam canon and master blaster I usually wash the truck in 30 minutes when rushing, comes out spot free and dry as a bone, no water drips by the mirrors or badges. Is the foam canon or master blaster necessary, heck no, does it save a ton of time and your finish ( no micro scratches), especially if you have hard water, Yep! For a single vehicle I could do without the foam canon but once you have a master blaster its hard to go back to fully drying with towels.

TedB, your probably right about the electric. But I love my gas PW, sure it's a little loud,a little powerful, but so are the trucks we drive. And as long as you know how to use it, your not going to hurt the paint. And the Master Blaster is great, stupid expensive, but I couldn't go back to drying without it.

I don't know how you can do 3 cars, takes me hour and half just to do the truck. It will be easier now that the weather is getting cooler.

Thanks. I had never thought about that as a solution to getting rid of pooled water. I am going to order one.
