Been reading up for a while, and decided to make an account.

I’m going to go look at a 2018 raptor tomorrow. MSRP is 72k and I can get it at 5-6k under MSRP. Need some advice if I should go with a 18 or just order a 19? Never owned a Raptor, so I wouldn’t know how much of a difference the upgrades in the 2019 make “especially the shocks”. I live in Florida and most of my driving will be highway. I just always wanted a raptor, so I thought now is the right time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

FWIW I was in the same boat and opted for the ‘18 @4k below MSRP. IMHO the differences are minor if you’re primarily going to be on road. The cost savings are significant. If you can find an ‘18 with the options you’re looking for I would save my money and begin enjoying it now.

That’s what I was thinking as well! Heading over to the dealership in a little :) thanks

If you are going to get a 18, make sure it has the metal oil pan and not the plastic one. All the other improvements on the 2019 I think you can live without.

I ordered the 2019 for all the new bits. Yes you pay more for the 2019s but it will hold its value more than the 2018s.

I would go for the '19 if one drive primarily highway. Everybody agrees the shocks are the biggest improvement from 18 to 19. 18's shock are a compromise, 19's shocks suits highway better. Or you like a plushy ride, then the 18 will do fine and you will save money.

I feel like coming from a Sierra 2500 on a 4 inch lift and 35’s anything will ride way better to me lol. But i see what you’re saying. Didn’t pull the trigger just yet on the 18 I went to look at today.

The only big difference in the 19's is the shocks. I was more concerned with the orange accent interior and moon roof which are not available on the 19's, so I went with an 18. I drive on road only and completely satisfied with the way it rides. Paying so much more for the 19 would be a big waste of money for me.
