Guys,,, ANy input it greatly apprciated... Well i bought my used 2019 from a HIGHEND BMW dealership.. it is a 2019 Raptor with 38k.. The car showed oil was done at dealer, then the BMW dealership did it again at 38k.. well I did it again at 39500 because it look kinda dark -- I did not read the forums.. apparently TURBO ENGINES oil gets darker quicker.. anyways-- sorry i am rambling.. SO TODAY I take it to the DEALER and told then I want to ensure i get FORD hiend everything for my used truck - recommend oil and filter.. I figure this hi-end truck they would of charged me 130$+ but it was about 60$.. So i ask them after i review the receipt - DO THESE TRUCKS COME NEW with the best oil synthetic oil or would'nt that be the best oil ford would recommend.. The dealer said- NO-- It is better for long running engines over 5k, but if u change it reg then its not a big deal... short story they gave ME
1. BSP MOTOCRAFT SAE 5W-30 API GF-5-- cheap crap
2. aa5z-6714-b MOTOR CRAFT oil FILTER-- cost like 6$

WTF---- so what would u GENTS recommend.. running this for 2or 3k miles then BUYING MY OWN FILTERS and OIL?--- SHOULD I RUSH OUT and get it redone with BETTER FILTER AND OIL??
I am not mechancially savy
, so i would just buy whatever you recommend and have dealer swap out..

BTW- He tolfd me its recommend to have the TRANSMISSION FUILD Changed at 39k.. I SAID are you serious?? That should of been my red flag!

thanks in advance

I use Motorcraft SAE 5w30 Synthetic Blend and FL-500S filter because that is what is recommended in the manual. I buy my own oil and filters and do not take it to a stealership for service. To each his own.
Thank u. Any reason u do the Blend vs full?? Just curious. Also since the dealer ship did the bare minimum... I am thinking I will.drive it 2k then change it out. What u think?

Nothing wrong with the Motorcraft stuff, that's what the trucks come from the factory with. Asking what oil and filter each of us use will net you a million different answers. Personally, I always use 100% synthetic oil and an OEM filter. I've gone with the boutique oil brands like Motul, Liqui Moly, Redline and Amsoil, etc to the off the shelf Castrol, Mobil 1 and Pennzoil and never had an issue. Additionally, because I over maintain all my vehicles the oil analysis always look great. Last oil change I did on the Raptor I used Amsoil.

So... don't worry about the oil and enjoy the new truck, then after 5000 miles choose whatever oil you like. (If you decided to DIY, make sure to research how to do it on the Raptor as it's a PITA and you'll probably have a bit of a mess as the oil drains. Many members suggest getting Fumoto drain plug to make it a bit easier.

Thank you!!.. I appreciate the info. i have heard some good info about Amsoil oil.. What model amsoil did u use? I will stick with the standard 500s filter and better oil.. As for the Fumoto plug will look into it as well.. ... I am guessing the blend is a better deal vs full synthetic

Don't quote me on this but I don't think it's recommended until 100k. I firmly believe that break in oils should never be run that long at first oil or trans change. If I have new vehicles I do motor oil within 600 miles and trans at 2nd oil change, but, is purely my opinion. If you ever see a first oil change magnetic oil plug you'll see why. Think Chia-pet!

No.
Full synthetic is better.. I use amsoil signatures series.. 5w-30. Along with an amsoil filter.. the micron rating on that filter is great..
