Ok I'm new to the Raptor but why a tailgate lock? My tailgate has a key that locks it. What don't I know. Sorry for the basic question. My first mods were a Truxedo cover and a AirAid CAI. Both complete. Next up Rigid dually's. I also put a brushed chrome piece around my up fitter switches. Real nice.

all it takes is to forget to lock the tail gate once and with in 15 seconds it gone. it try to lock mine all the time but theres times i forget plus the lock can be punched out easily.

So I take it there are a lot of goof balls grabbing tailgates out there? Great. One more thing to worry about. I'll mount a Go Pro in the window so I can enjoy their face as they borrow my tailgate. :greenchainsaw:

If you're going for smile factor and day to day functionality I would say intake/exhust and tune. Mostly the tune, I giggled for weeks after getting my 5 Star tune. It's Raptor beast mode.

Yeah, just looking out for you bud. For Tailgate Step tails you're looking at ~$4.5K easy and even for the regular tail its ~$4.1K.

Anyways, just one last thing that can be easily ordered and put on. Purchase a Sparebumper from SUPERBUMPER Hitch Step - Stops Rear End Collision Damage.

You can use the Search and find a thread where another member had been rear ended and ended up only having cosmetic scratches on the Sparebumper, while crushing the radiator and immobilizing the other vehicle. Some people here will say just put on a trailer hitch and let it ride but in many states that is illegal unless you are actively towing something. Also you do not want the damage to be transferred/absorbed by the hitch into the frame. Just look into it and I guarantee you it'll help out. Best looking $150 spent for peace of mind too.
