OK so I've had my raptor for about 1 and half months now. Taking her off road is a common practice, but most everything around here off road is pretty much plain jane flat within 50 miles. Not much fun without traveling. Which my usual playground is in the silver lake dunes. Can't wait to get this beast up there....

Anyways finally found a nice lil washout to flex the suspension a bit at speed. The main washout on the road drops a good 1'-1½', and length about 15'... I have gradually added speed through it several times. At 60-65 it felt pretty good. Next run was at 70-75 and it felt pretty hard. As in a good 20-25% harder than the last run.

My question is basically is this the max I should be pushing the stock suspension or is there a lil more in her? Not that I will be hitting stuff like this 24/7, but more so wanting to know where I'm at as far as pushing this truck to its stock limits through others collective experience.

I am at mid-perch.

Is it time for 3.0's already!!??

Your skid plate is the real indicator. If you're bashing that sucker in, than it's time to slow down or upgrade.

Where's it at, we can run my truck through it at the same speed and compare

North side of bourbonnais, south of Manteno. You can see 57 in the background.

I haven't hit it yet that I know of. I took a look at it after ward and was fine. Its hard imagining the suspension going that low to even hit!

Here's another vid I took earlier on a 60-65 run. Different angle as well (which is NOT a good spot to put the gopro Lol)

its not the suspension going low enough to hit it, its whats in front of the skit plate that hits it.

The sand at teh dunes destroys skid plates.

Ask me how i know.

Yea that's what I was thinking as well. But didn't know what kind of clearance is left when the suspension is bottomed.

How do you know?

:p

Looks like the tire hit the inner fender well. A little smoke came off at full bump.

A little trick is to put a plastic tie ******** the shock and see how high it is after testing

Will do. I normally run a dirt bike (this will be the first Year with the raptor) and my dad runs a long travel sand rail (800hp, 24" travel). We try to make it 4-5 times a year for a long weekend or week.

Yea it did. Not sure if it was smoke or some of the layer of dried mud being ground to dust. I did have a zip tie on there and it was as far as it could go.
