Lol a base TuRdX is 74k. Lol and until a trx competes and conquers Baja then I will take a closer look at one.(until then will I consider)I use my truck off road ( not mall crawling and actually prefer the light / nimble feel of the raptor over the nose heavy TuRdX. When / if I want to go fast I will pull my c8 out of the garage and go fast. Now why don’t you stellantis (Italian owned) fan boys go back over to the TuRdX forums and brag about you hellcat powered mall crawling wide body can’t tell it apart from 30 yards ram rebel lookalikes
Everyone has another car they use on this forum to go fast. Why waste the money? Buy a TRX and you get both…

Yea, except for the fact that the TRX isn’t fast by any stretch of the imagination. Quick for a 3.5 ton truck, sure. But fast, never. Anyone who owns or drives fast cars won’t dispute this.

I also consider “quick” and “fast” two different things.

The TRX reaching 60mph in 4 seconds or less, that’s quick!
The TRX being governed at 118mph, not exactly fast (yet faster than the Raptor)

I think the back and forth banter is good for everybody. Each truck has its pro’s and con’s. I just hope folks don’t take the banter too serious.

We’ll probably not so much with Ram. Dodge is a different story. They are two separate companies now. Last Cox automotive reports per brand has the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 respectively holding their values 1.9% and 2.1% over the F150 and Superduty 250. I’m guessing you don’t have access to this research, but there it is.

Raptor prices are through the roof on 2ng Gen, thanks to Fords severe price hike on the Gen 3. Once the market cools, and Gen 3’s are out and about more available, the Gen 2 Raptor market will fall (Already has based on the Mannheim used indexes for Auction sales on the 17-20 Raptors) yet the TRX has held steady for the past 4 months.

But who am I to argue, just an auto broker that spends all day in this market…
Lol when the auto market cools and fuel prices go up what do you think is going to happen to your ram rebel trx lol. Is not going up I promise you. There are dealers over on the TuRdX forums asking folks to order/buy for 5,000 off msrp with some saying invoice. Historically speaking ram has held its value the WORST out of the big 3 in the truck department. Ask several members around here about the trade in values on rams. Lol I could care less about a Cox automotive report. VinConnect, vauto, dealertrack. I go off of MMR NOT BOOK #s.

Raptor - Premium Fuel, 36 gallon tank, 18 MPG max highway.

TRX - Premium Fuel, 33 gallon tank, 14 MPG max Highway.

It costs more to fill up a Raptor that it does a TRX, for what would ideally be about 100 mile difference. Most that buy in this market don’t really care about fuel costs, otherwise they would buy a Ridgeline or Santa Cruz and be done with it. This market dynamic follows the residual values. You don’t see Honda Civics value increase when gas is high. So you don’t really see it on the dealer side. Dealers will tell you this when you go to trade in your truck, but hope you understand that is a stupid, age old sales tactic.

At the end of the day, a truck is a truck. They would all swing in value together for the most part. So if you’re saying that the TRX value would bomb, I can 100% guarantee you the Raptors would follow.

Having fun arguing this out with you. Don’t take me for a TRX fanboy, or a Raptor fanboy in this scenario.

I think the Raptor is a great vehicle. Just not thrilled with the Gen 3. Gen 2’s are crazy overpriced right now. So the TRX seemed like a fit.

And there is a huge reason dealers are offering discounts on 2022’s for the TRX. It’s guaranteed inventory. Those dealers hope to hell you back out. Then they have inventory 100% coming into stock. And they can sell those units without the discount. Direct from my dealer principle that I bought my TRX from. That’s why they’re doing it. He wants me to back out. Ram notified dealers that since the auto part shortages are so bad, they would be focusing in sold orders vs stock orders. This created the discounts across the US.

Yeah, but Hellcat-powered vehicles have always held their value better than the run of the mill, right?

Historically speaking Ford has always held their value far greater than Ram. I think the TRX is likely a great truck. But it isn't for me. Yeah the 700hp is great and the sound. But I've got my GT350R for sound and for slaying hellcats in the curves. I think the interior is a wash between the TRX and Gen 3 Raptor. Though gas mileage is not a huge concern for me I still don't like the idea of getting less than 300 miles on a tank of gas in the TRX versus close to 500 in a Raptor. I prefer the Raptor and I think it is a much better all around truck for what I want in a truck. I think it is funny how we have a bunch of new users on this forum that have TRX's and seem that it is their 9 to 5 job to clock in and bash the Raptor. Ram paying you guys? lol I don't think some of them ever even owned Raptors. Of course the TRX sounds better and of course it is faster. That doesn't take away from how great of a motor the H.O. 3.5 Ecoboost is though. I would like to see a review between the two trucks that simply measures the suspension and overall offroad performance. My guess is the Raptor would win. In the end, both are great trucks though. Different strokes for different folks.

With this logic, automakers should just make 10 gallon tanks. It's cheaper to fill up the tank! People aren't that stupid. Sure, a lot of people won't care about fuel costs, but no body thinks that a smaller tank means fuel costs are lower.

Woooosah bro. Why all the hate? I’m probably going to enter some local races. It is heavy. If the raptor fits you better cool.

Did you really use a c8 as a comparison? Lol.

Last I checked the thread it’s about the TRX. So we aren’t welcome because we decided to buy a different truck?

When did you finish the baja 1000 if I may ask? The 500? Someone is going to do it in a trx. Hell I might if I find a salvage title for cheap.

So you buy the raptor for attention at the mall because it’s more recognizable?

who’s the narcissist who wants to make sure everyone knows they have a raptor and are therefore a big baller? Take a look in the mirror bro
