Hi Guys,

I have a few issues with my Truck and i'm not at all confident with the Ford service people.

If you could provide me with some feedback I would sure appreciate it!

Issues:

1) when it's cold, I get a loud whine, sounds like power steering, and i whirrs a bit when turning, but it is just loud at idle and goes on until it's warmed up and drive for about 15 minutes. So fluid and pump i'm thinking. any other recommendations or things I should check?

2) My truck shifts hard when you take off slow like at a light with traffic, part / almost no throttle, 1-2 shifts slam every time. under a load it shifts fine. I had "ford" check it out and they said "everything's fine" typical for them..... any ideas or experience here?

3) occasionally the far right upfitter switch lights up, when off or on. as far as I know they're not hooked up to anything. wierd?

4) is there any way to turn off the seatbelt dinger - it's my nemesis.

Thanks guys.
I love my truck, it's my daily.

1. Could be the power steering pump, you off road much? Or maybe the belts?
2. Search for the clunk issue.
3. Check the wires for the uplifter switches behind the glove box
4. Wear your seatbelt, its the law.

Check the power steering fluid level. Mine has a small leak but once it got low it started to whine. Filled her up and whine is gone.

Hi Dalamar,

Let me know if you decide to have any of these issues addressed by the dealer; I'm always happy to do what I can to help out. If you need to find an alternate dealership near you, just enter your ZIP code here: Ford Dealers | Locate a Ford Dealer Near You | Ford.com What's the current mileage on your truck?

The transmission will learn over the life of the vehicle. Sometimes clearing the learned values can change the feel of the shift points. To clear the learned values, disconnect the battery and leave disconnected for a minimum of 5 minutes (longer time, the better). If that does not clear the learned shift strategy, the dealer can clear the Keep alive memory (KAM). I would try that first (because it doesn't cost anything) and see if any changes are noticed.

RDFTS, I have only offroaded 2-3x - I've had this gorgeous truck for 6 months. I think the previous owner did a lot of off roading....

I also get some clunk in the suspension over bumps and stuff. need to check the bushings.

Let me know if you end up getting them involved, Dalamar. Once they've diagnosed, I'll be able to escalate you to the customer service manager, if needed.

Thanks for the responses guys.
I had my PS fluid checked/changed on friday. it was a tad low but not much, no visible leaks. the fluid did have some silver metalic flakes in it :/ It took care of the noise issue. steering is tight and feels good. hope my rack doesn't konk out anytime soon.

Also had a service done and had the tuner at API check the tune and see if the shift points had been messed with. the tune is all stock. I'll have to keep digging on that issue.
