bout time slacker

Got it done Saturday and ended up going a completely different route, go figure. I've had the Viper 5608 (or similar) on the TBSS and GTO. Prior to that I had a CompuStar on the Firehawk. The place had no issues installing a Viper since we discussed it already, but also carry CompuStar so I asked for some CompuStar options for kicks since I also had good luck with that alarm too.

Come to find out they revamped their whole line up and "fell in love" with the slice remote which is basically same as Viper's 2-way LED just a little thinner and blue LEDs. The faux LED got swapped for a real alarm LED. Range is pretty awesome on the keyfob as well.

What model/features?

To be quite honest, I really don't know what the actual part # is for the alarm+remote start I got. I tried to look on the website but no help. I do know I have the "slice" 2-way remote which I must say is pretty slick looking and very thin. Alot of people like the LCD remotes, but I'd rather less bulk in my pocket and the slice is perfect. I can ask my buddy which one he installed.

I can confirm that the remote works to the door of my office building which is 1/3 of a mile. It doesn't work inside my office, but even cell signal isn't strong in here.

For anyone wondering, the slice is thinner than the Viper LED 2-way, but they seem very close to same size other than that. I think I have an old Viper remote still, I can try to find it if anyone was curious exact differences.

If you run across the model number let me know, I'm considering an alarm for my truck. Thanks.

white/orange is ignition. + when key is on -when key is off. 7 pin plug on the left side of the steering column. you will need a 5.5mm socket to remove the 3 bolts in steering wheel shroud. black plug. there are 3 or 4 white/orange wires in thr big harness so be very careful in making sure you got the right one. you will also possibly need a resistor if the led does not have it. so connect the ignition wire to the CATHODE SIDE of the led (-side) and connect a constant power to the ANODE side (+)

Thank you so much. Did the install today.
