OK - Sears called back these are quotes on the Wild Peak

35-12.50-17 ($251.00) 74lbs

317-70-17 (204.99) 78lbs

Hmm- 4 lbs is the question.

I'm assuming you meant to type 315-70-17? I don't understand the large difference in price between these two sized tires? They are the same size each basically. Also I thought on one of the threads regarding these tires that the person had ordered 325-70-17 which was a true 35 inch tire.
Why are you so concerned about 16 lbs difference between the tires. You'll never notice the difference.
Its not the 16lbs I am worried about its the 52lbs. Falken vs BFG (oem) I am just a firm believer in not adding unsprung weight. The difference between the Falken @ 78lbs vs the stock BFG @ 65 lbs. Clearly I understand these trucks can handle it and there are a great many running 20s and Toyo MT's which combined weigh 40lbs over stock wheel and tire setup.

The 325 weighs 82 lbs. It is a true 35, but also 13.1 wide. I have heard mixed comments on that size, some saying you can really tell the added weight when it comes to acceleration and braking.

Could the weight difference be a difference in the load range say a D and a E
They are both load range D with the 315 having a capacity of 3195lbs and the 35 a capacity of 3000lbs.

I was considering these tires at one point but decided to go with the TOYO AT2 instead. The reason I was turned off with the Wildpeaks is that a section of the tire has siping doesn't go down that deep. Therefore after not too many miles someone reported that the tread pattern didn't' seem as effective when it hit that siping. "Not too many miles" means the other section of the tread seemed like it has some decent meat left on it, but the section with not full depth siping turned into racing slicks. This is all based of a review someone posted up on the Tacomaworld forums with pics, they're floating around somewhere on the interwebs. That is what turned ME off about them. That being said I love my Toyos at2's. Just my opinion based off research I did. Take it as you will.

Personally I would be more concerned about what type of driving I do mostly. 70 % highway 30 % gravel . 6 months of snow and ice. Do see some mud occasionally but not much. It may not look as aggressive as a " MT " but I'm not a poser, I prefer performance. Don't have to prove anything to others, just myself.

I really like the Toyo... Does the Load Range E effect the ride much?
