Factory Carbon Fiber Trim Pieces After Purchase

I’ve been considering duracoating the “faux diamond plate” on some of the trim to add to the “redneck pimp” quotient.
thoughts?



I’m thinking the 3rd one. So for the pieces @leftie712 coated, make them diamond plate.

After all, it’s an off road truck, not a Ducati !

One I decide to use is 3M 1080-CFS12. To me it has nice texture and not as glossy as others.

This is interesting... I thought the door cards had to be completely replaced, that the trim on the door cards was not removable. Price is a bit ridiculous though. I would be interested on a Brushed Aluminum, a Dark Ash Wood Grain, or a Piano Black.

Yes it is. They also do the custom steering wheels as well. They used my truck to get all the patterns correct, I already had the carbon fiber accents but needed to make sure the pattern they were using on my steering wheel matched up. They do really good work. The carbon fiber pattern they use is exact to the OEM pattern. Really good group of guys to work with.

Glad you responded... as I wanted to ask if you are aware who can provide matching vent trim in carbon?? I cannot stand the plastic trim and would like to match the OEM carbon I already have.

Agreed, the standard painted plastic trim is unforgivable. Next to the large bezel infotainment screen, its the "cheapest" part of the truck interior. I plan to remove that painted plastic and replace it with the brushed aluminum bits from a Platinum or Limited F150.

Give them a call, they can make whatever you need made for your interior now that they have the patterns from mine. The guy you want to talk to is David in service, he can hook you up with whatever you need.

For my vents I ended up painting all my plastic trim to piano black. Makes the interior look a lot better and more rich. I couldn't stand the matte grey plastic look. Here are a couple of pics so you can see how it came out.

Mine came w/ CF & I have to say it does look cool, especially the shifter. Some of the other pieces you don't notice as much, but of course you use the shifter all the time.

Agreed, I was somewhat indifferent about the CF package before purchase but 100% happy I got it. I enjoy the thick poly protective clear coat over the panels, and especially like the look and feel of the shifter. If buying again it would be a must have.

Just get the shifter, it’s all you need and a very easy install.
