So love the look of the 4 inch lift.

Anyone who has one or something similar installed let us know pros and cons on and off road.

Does it have a big difference in ride quality on the road/highway

I was thinking the same about a year ago. Folks seem generally okay with a level kit (springs seem to be better), however, I think you will hear a lot about a specifically engineered truck and not to mess wiith the engineering. I ended up with springs and bigger tires. Marginally okay with the group. :)

You have about a .5% chance that someone hasn't had their coffee this morning and will tell you something positive about a 4" lift on a Raptor, and about a .25% chance someone will tell you something positive about Fabtech.......

Lol yes I currently have the RPG collars and I am happy with it. I also just saw another build with a 4 inch bds lift and was told it does not mess with the shocks Performance. I know there’s a lot of people out here who say don’t mess with it because Ford built it a certain way. However I know a lot of you have messed with it so curious to see the pros and cons after that being done, if you don’t do it serious off-roading does it really make that big of a difference.

i drew a picture as to why its so frowned upon.

In summary one of the largest changes is the way the suspension cycles due to an increased center of gravity which directly changes the mechanical leverage ratio of the control arms and force exerted onto the coil. so if you could stiffen the coil. which lead to stiffer ride. any joint will wear out faster due to more load. bolts are under more strain, and any non-relocated/rasied joint (ie axles, tie rods..) have the potential to bind.

in similarity think of putting a pipe on the end of your breaker bar...same concept by raising the truck

Like any traditional pickup "suspension lift" It's just a spacer that moves the front suspension down 4" away from the frame. It structurally compromises and weakens the truck, changing the load path of forces taken by the front end. With a truck that's designed to go fast and sometimes do so slightly airborne, this becomes a major problem.

They work fine if you're plodding along, but ruin the capabilities of a Raptor or anything designed to go fast/fun.
