With the newer style there is no kinking issue. I do however agree that the nutsert sucks and there has to be a better way. I keep tightening mine a little at a time every couple of days but I don't see it lasting long. I'll come up with something better and let you all know when I figure it out.

I hope you do, since I'm not having any luck. I spent hours at Fastenal the other day looking for something to replace the nutsert and I'm just not having any luck.

I just called the company (Dee Zee) and they sent me the bag that contained the nutsert, hex tool, etc. No questions asked. Had it within a week. Great customer service.

Yea, I received an email from them and it's on its way. I am just amazed that they are not charging me, since this would be the second time in 4 months.

I have the newer style and works great. Only issue i'm having is that it squeaks like crazy when lowering. I've tried adding the lubrication/oil provided on several occasions and it still has a horrible sound when lowering. Any Advice???

I didn't use the allen key to tighten the nutcert on mine because it looked like it would strip quite easily. I wrapped the outer surface of the nutcert with electrical tape then I used a bit of threadlock and tightened it by hand, then cinched it down using a tiny 6" pipe wrench. Once I was satisfied it was tight I pulled the tape and installed the shock/e-clip.

gate damper ?

Just wondering is anyone has input of a gate damper. Good ones vs bad ones. I see they are not very expensive but has anyone had good luck with certain brands quality?

Thanks in advance
