I have a question... When you close the tailgate, is the cable supposed to touch the shock and the tailgate? Mine doesn't have that much room, but it touches both. Not that it binds or anything... just a concern since so many of you had problems with the old design.

The shock just touches the cable which is better than the older version. The older version rubbed and would bind the cable, which is why they had the foam cushion thing.
