Hello everyone, wanted to get the groups experience/recommendations for bumper to bumper warranty options for their gen 2 Raptors.
We have a 2018 screw with 36K miles on it, got a 7 year / 100K mile extended warranty on it new, and we are now looking at options for getting another extended warranty on it when that one's runs out next year.
We went to the original dealer that we purchased it from, new, in Minnesota, and asked about additional extended warranties. Per their finance manager, their only offering, for this year age vehicle, was an additional 6 year / 30K mile warranty for about $3,000. They also said that they don't even have an option to offer extended warranties on vehicles 10 years + in age, regardless of mileage.
So basically if we got what they are offering, by the time that expires, we would have no further option for extended warranties, even if the mileage is only at about 75K or so, this is a shift from what we've experienced over the past 5-10 years with other vehicles of similar age/mileage.
Has anyone come across similar scenarios with their dealers, or other reliable extended warranty companies outside of their dealers offerings, that actually are pretty easily executed with their Ford dealer for service during the extended warranty period? We have always had great success with extended warranties direct through dealers, but have heard horror stories of other warranties, not through dealer in terms of validating coverage, recognizing warranty etc etc.
Thanks!
