Was on a pretty crazy power line trail, around 50-60 mph in 2wd and realized i lost all power and put her in 4low to get outta the trails. Haven't opened it up yet to see what surprises are inside. That is a new one, pretty fantastic... looks like whatever critter was in there wanted out desperately. What does the inside look like?
How fast where you going?

No everything stock in the rear end, have been hearing some winning for a while now, than some clicking, and then this happened.do you have one of those "rear locker on at any speed" mods?
I'd guess that there was some bind, the carrier flexed and bad things happened.
Serviced recently? A whine is typically a bearing going out or the mesh got out of spec somehow. From the looks of the pic you grenaded the ring gear. Hopefully your axels are ok and you just need a new carrier unit/ring/pinion. You may have some luck finding a whole rear end from a junk yard for a quick and easy swap. If you replace the parts, make sure the case is in really good shape still and the pinion didn't grenade as well and jack up the housing. When they get stuck/out of mesh they can twist laterally and destroy the bearing mounts. A lower mile full swap might be the easiest route. Make sure you service it before you put it in. If it were mine, I'd start looking for a low mile complete unit out of a wrecked raptor. Pull the cover and inspect it really well. With the wheels off and the whole unit out you should be able to turn the drive yoke and axels on each side and see everything is mated well. Don't buy one with chips on any of the ring/pinion teeth. No everything stock in the rear end, have been hearing some winning for a while now, than some clicking, and then this happened.
