I only have 1100 or so miles on my truck but, I checked the oil after bringing it home from the dealership and it is above the full line a little on the dipstick. Like you said I checked it multiple times and each time was showing the same over full a little. I have just been driving it and didn't try to drain any since it should be right from the factory. Hopefully this wont cause a problem but I have heard someone else say theirs is the same as well on a new truck. So it must be a common problem.

It's filled with 7 qts from the factory for a number of reasons, but the refill (with filter) is 6 qts. It's all in the manual.

Mine just took 6 quarts!!!! Despite all the forum trolls know how, after draining the oil, I start my vehicle and let it run till the oil pressures drops. Then immediately kill it, there's usually about another 1/2 quart that runs out.

We're not trolls just because we don't do as you do or disagree with your methods.

Weird man. Changed my oil 4500 miles ago. Filter and 6 quarts. Dipstick shows a **** hair under the upper mark.

Same experience here on 3 oil changes; 6 qts and it's just at the upper mark.

The dipstick is hard to read after running the engine. The dipstick goes through the valve cover and head so it also serves as a drain back to the pan. Let it sit for a little while and it clears up
