Ford opened a Hotline Assistance Request for my issue. Ford responded with the following: Since the P0330 DTC sets intermittently, there may be a wiring harness fault between the knock sensor and the PCM. Ensure the stock sensors are fully seated on the engine block with the tapered side of the sensor facing up. Inspect the wiring harness and perform a wiggle tests during the circuit testing involved in PPT DG in Section 5 of PC/ED. Since the problem is so intermittent, it is important to reproduce the circumstances in which the code sets. Conditions such as cold or hot starts, cold weather, rain, aftermarket components installed in the DLC or otherwise, or filling up the gas tank at a low quality gas station can set this code. During testing, also inspect and connectors for water intrusion or corrosion, tap on sensors for voltage spikes, and check for pin fitment and pin drag concerns using the appropriate flex probe tools. If a concern is found with the harness, repair the wire and retest vehicle.

Good information... thanks for sharing.

I am going to change the plugs with Rotorcraft CYFS092YPT plugs gapped at .029 and sit tight and then monitor it for 6 months. The I will check OASIS for possible PCM software updates. I can swap out and gap the plugs myself anyways. Would any of you guys want them to take the top end off your new engine to change parts and perform that sophisticated wiggle test (really?)? I'm curious for some feedback because I don't think it's a part issue..... but I am no Ford design engineer either. Smokeshow put in a tune, and he doesn't seem to have the problem anymore. Others replaced the plugs and the problem seemed to go away.

As was mentioned before.... it's a ghost... if Ford knew anything for sure there would certainly be a tsb.

I was honestly joking. I dumped my gen 2 because of this, a lot of people told me I was crazy and I just got a lemon trust me there are tons of other people that don't post of forum with the same problems. My dealer told me

Its a performance vehicle its going to run like that.....When I heard this I dumped my Gen 2 down the road this will be an on going problem for Gen 2 owners and Ford my advise would be leave your truck stock and don't touch the engine or ECU..........

Dino. I haven't seen ford do anything whatsoever concerning this. Oasis still says no updates for my vin anyway...

Yea. I read your thread a few times... beautiful piece for sure. It truly is a shame.. however I believe mine is acceptable now and since I already have a 350 I'm hanging on... but I totally agree with you
